not to be confused with first game roster

I assume Montgomery is assigned to Chicago today and Jost is waived.

Blake was a paper move and he will be called up simultaneously. We will gain cap space as cap hit will be lower than our adjusted upper cap limit.

I have done the math. We dont gain any extra cap space by LTIR Stillman instead of SOIR. So there must be some unknown as to why he isnt SOIR.

I'm just trusting the brains in charge know what they're doing. It'll all be clear soon enough. Maybe they found an obscure deferment type loophole to exploit.

I don’t know if Stillman had any callup time last season in the NHL making his SOIR cap hit >$0? But the cap situation would work out the same if Stillman had a small SOIR cap hit, but large enough to require LTIR to be cap compliant.

Teams can use both SOIR and LTIR on the same player. The LTIR relief would be equal to the player’s SOIR cap hit.

I don’t think he did looking over his transactional history. His one transaction last season was being waived on October 7th. Maybe puckpedia is wrong, idk
