Teams always create a DND list for the upcoming draft. Whether its skills and abilities issues, or off- ice concerns.

I doubt teams bother to create DND lists, it's a completely redundant exercise. Teams go into the draft with a relatively small list of 80-100 players they want to draft, if they don't want to draft someone they don't need a separate list just leave him of their draft list like they do all the other draft eligible players they have no interest in.

Yup, I think it's more that in their evaluation, some players are flagged as DND, but I dont think theres some list either.

I don't believe in DND lists, barring extreme circumstances like Mitchell Miller.

Otherwise you're just reducing your options. For example, I have Michkov as my #2 player on my draft list, but I wouldn't select him at #2 or even 3/4/5/6 because of the contract issues. But I'd never put him on my DND list because if he falls to 10 or beyond... take him.

Anytime I have heard anyone talk about how teams approach this it is "they took XXXXX off our board", I don't think they are creating a separate list for who not to draft... lol. That would just be silly. I have heard people say teams had so and so as a DND, but I always just took that as he wasn't on their list.

I also do not think if teams take someone off their board they would draft them after rounds 1-2, usually if they get dropped they are dropped entirely.

This thread screams Russian players for lots of teams. I can see Mitchkov going outside of the top 4 as predicted and others to be slid down some draft rankings

With teams list having as few as 80 players on them, there are probably a lot of players take in the second round that many teams don't have on their draft list. (I can't find the link anymore but 4-5 years ago a former GM was outlining how things worked on draft day and he said they would go into the draft with a list of 80-100 player and that was enough as there would still be a number of them left at the end of the draft.)

This thread would have gone better if it was framed as "prospects you think have high bust risk" or "prospects you think are overrated". DND is more of an extreme thing.
Yea, that's telling me one wouldn't use a 7th round pick on this player.

These are very mean-spirited imo. Like "hey talk crap about some 17 year old prospects based on some attribute or whatever"

I also agree, a "Do Not Draft" list would be a waste of time for an NHL team. Why take valuable time that is spent on the scouting/evaluation process to note which prospects they specifically hate? They should be focusing on the ones that they want to take.

WAYYYY to many stupid penalties
This isn’t a Brady Tkachuk power forward type of high penalty minutes.

It is a stupid, unnecessary, instantly hurt your your team and get benched type of penalties and majors.

Bedard. Guy peaked too soon and is using all his goals now. You should pass on him. Maybe team with 3 1st round picks can take chance on him but everyone else should stay away.
And Michkov too. Because before there were no generational talents in KHL.
