It’s not looking good points wise.
However last night I saw him live and he was impactful in other ways. Hitting , physical and the fight .
But again it’s been few and far between and he needs to take a huge step offensively
Yes hes inconsistent. Yes a lot of his game needs improvement. But if you honestly cant see his potential I don't know what to tell you.

Way too early. He had a 50 point season as a 19 year old. He is having a "bad" season but is still on track for a 47 points on a not great Canadiens team.
I feel like a lot of this crap has been bought on about because Wright is having a good year. Give the kids some time to get better.

I don't need a thread it fits here. Was just thinking similar type of players Knies obviously a year older but powerforward game was what they were drafted for and have very similar toolsets.
With Slaf there is an energy problem. Similar to Michkov where he gets gassed / depleted and his effort level wanes. When his energy level is high, so is his motivation and confidence and he is dynamite. I think this physical aspect will improve significantly as he matures physically.
He was too big too early and needs his body (man strength and coodination) to catch up. We see that happening.

He scored last night and created many high danger chances, he wasn't just physical.
His contract is under 8m , nowadays that's just a regular number for a top 6 player and it's only going to get better as the cap increase. Even if he's just a 60 pts player, the contract wont be an issue.
