Pretty sure if we got Marty we wouldnt need patty. Patty> Marty all day. 3 Conne Smythes all day
AVS probably would have won the cup with Brodeur, the core of the team was already there minus a good goalie and it's not like Marty wasn't a dominant, cup winning goalie in the mid 90's and early 2000's.
One interesting thought: had the Nords drafted Brodeur instead of Nolan in 1990, there's a strong possibility that they wouldn't have traded Sundin and drafted Witt instead of Thibault.
Team A (drafted Jagr and Thibault): Jagr + Roy + Keane + Lefebvre & Lemieux (Sundin)
Team B (drafted Brodeur and Witt): Brodeur + Sundin + Kovalenko + Rucinsky + Witt
Team C (drafted Nolan and Thibault): Roy + Keane + Ozolinsh (Nolan) + Lemieux & Lefebvre (Sundin)
It's tricky. From the AVS' POV Jagr would have been the best pick. From the Nords' POV it would be Brodeur.
