So he is among the best U-23 players in the country at age 19? If so that’s still a good accomplishment for an unheralded prospect.

Misyul and Mukhamadullin both accomplished this as well. Still a great sign.
Mukhamadullin isn’t a surprise. He was obviously highly regarded at home even if a subset of writers in the west didn’t like him. Misyul I guess I’m slightly surprised but he was a third round pick which is fairly high for a defensive defenseman.

The initial post made it sound like he was invited to the main National team, I just corrected that it is the U23 one, there's kind of a big difference between those.
