Reading the first line of the Sabre's "weekly transactions" blurb above really struck me for some reason: "Buffalo fired head coach Lindy Ruff on Wednesday"

Even though it has more than sunk in, just reading that stopped me cold. Weird. It's like a mourning process. The move was needed, but geeez, he really will be missed.

By the way, fire Capuano.

Girlfriend bought us tickets to this one. More excited now than I was a week ago.

I'm 0-2 this year on games...don't make me sit through another loss...please?

I'm feeling a win tonight. I don't know if it's because of the better effort that I hope they show tonight, or just wishful thinking, but I still think they pull this one out.

Sabres: 4

Vanek, Stafford, Myers, Foligno

Islanders: 2

Tavares (2)

Would be nice to see the dead-beat crowd at FNC actually cheer for a change.

At least for a period!?

New coach, first game at home, start of post-Ruff era....can someone please make some noise and not just after a Sabres goal?

Give these clowns the benefit of the doubt, at least for a game or two.

Various Sabres have made numerous comments about how crowd noise inspires them and gives them energy to feed off.

Help 'em out! They need it!

Loss 3-2 Sabres

JT and Grabner feast on passive D that give them time and space and dont play the body. That describes the current version of our D to a tee.
