Better overall play?
Do you even watch the games?
Or do you just parrot organization press releases and Tort’s press conference blatherings?

For a coach who supposedly stresses defensive responsibility to blatant ignore the defensive black hole that is Owen Tippett is the height of hypocrisy.
The answer to question 2 is blatantly obviously NO !

Frost needs to be traded, for his own good
His own good and the teams own good, but like always they are too stupid and will wait till value is at its lowest.

I watch every game.

Like I said, Torts is more patient with high motor players who make mistakes trying to make plays, than mistakes made by not trying (i.e. lazy back check, etc.)
No one makes more mistakes than TK.

The problem with Frost isn't mistakes, it's ineffectual play.
He's not scoring, he has terrible metrics, and the eye test (and Edge) says he's slow.
Richard at least can skate and make things happen and score (though his size is a liability and he doesn't have great defensive instincts).

Has deadhead been critical of or argued against even one single thing Tortorella has said or done yet?

So tonight is EJ’s 1000th game but they’re doing the ceremony to honor him against the Avs on Monday.

Which means EJ will be in the lineup again or Torts can do what Torts does.

I love Coots. He was the only guy I paid to stand in line for at a carnival once upon a time. I hate everything about this. This guy has been broken, in all the wrong ways and it's kind of sad honestly.

If they need you dudebrah?? They need you to sell tickets. Holy smokes Coots is Shoresy
You really think they're pushing him to play? With that contract?
I'm sure it's quite the opposite, they have to fight with him to get him to take a game off.

It's usually the veterans who insist on playing, and the HC who has to tell them to sit.
Someone like Couts is wired to lie about injuries.

Not surprising Frost is benched, probably should be on IR. He's been awful this season
Couts xGF 47.51%, HDCF 57.25%, xGFrel +13.10, pp/60: 1.59
Laughton xGF 43.04%, HDCF 43.67%, xGFrel -2.92, pp/60: 1.74
Poehling xGF 44.15%, HDCF 48.65%, xGFrel -2.47, pp/60: 2.36
Frost xGF 39.18%, HDCF 35.95%, xGFrel -5.58, pp/60: 0.65
Cates xGF 33.22%, HDCF 33.82%, xGFrel -14.27, pp/60: 0.44
[Luchanko xGF 50.28%, HDCF 45.75%, xGFrel +3.99]

Cates has the edge over Frost:
1) skating much better
2) plays on the PK
3) more suited to being buried on the 4th line

Left out of your stats is that is a massive regression for everyone. Blaming single players for a team-wide massive regression is goofy.

That's kind of my point, so thanks! They've turned him into a f***ing Flyer. I know this is more of a hockey thing, than a Flyers thing, but the point stands, and please don't tell me that hockey guy mentality and Philly sports guy mentality doesn't juxtapose like synchronized swimmers.

Coots will play, because he's a warrior and it's been beaten into his head. Should he?

Serious question. Do they need to "push him to play" or is he doing that on his own after years of conditioning to not be a female body part?

Frost is clearly done with these Dino f***s, so In Typical fashion they will tank his value so a smart team steals him.

Man they stick to the playbook.
Frost is what he is at this point. Not to say these idiots won’t get absolutely nothing for him in a trade, but he hasn’t exactly blown anyone out of the water this season.

I think it's a competitive thing, most professional athletes love to compete and are use to playing through minor injuries. Just look at any NFL injury report.

Like so many things, it's a matter of balance, you don't want players who lack competitive fire, but you don't want them to be stupid, either.

It usually comes down to the medical staff, if a player can make an injury worse by playing, sit him. If it's matter of pain threshold, leave it up to the player. A big part of the job of a good training staff is to observe the players, and quietly inform the team doctor when the player is feeding him a load of BS (yeah, he says he's fine, but I saw him limping off the ice after the morning skate, . . . )

I would love to believe you, but I just can't. Do you really think pro athletes these days are playing for the love of the game? I'd put forward that that's what they want you to believe.

Pro athletes play sports to make money. Some might care about a championship and others don't. It's not because they're entitled kids. Or it is. I'm just going to sayit out loud for a whole generation of sports fans. The legend of Michael Jordan needs to die in some senses.

Jordan was a phenom. That's what people like that are. They are not the norm.
