Starting to wonder exactly how many small animals CK sacrificed over the off-season. He's been excellent so far.
Really liking how Chytil has looked these last few games, still think we need to see whether he and Panarin can play together

I feel like, based on the posts in this thread so far, I need to point out that the Sabres are 7-7-2.

They're bad but they're not close to an AHL team like they were last year.
they're also 3-6-1 in the last 10. They started hot but have struggled.

They are not push overs though. If you're not playing with urgency, they will outwork you and beat you

I respect the Sabres and the turnaround they've had, but I dislike the Rangers coming out with zero urgency and tempo to their game.

CK has a very underrated shot. Obviously his net presence is one of the best but I hope they run more plays like that one too
It's why I wouldn't mind him playing RW. It fills a need, it allows him to streak down the right way and have better shooting angles.

Panarin and Chytil the most noticeable positive players -- even with a few Chytil mistakes thrown in.

Worst player (compared to what he can be) -- Kakko. I'm a huge Kakko fan. Love him. But that period was garbage. Everything he did was slow and barely reactive. Even on that chance to score, just going in slo-mo out there. Don't like it. Pick it up, buddy. You can't control when you score, but you CAN control your effort and moving your feet.

Need a better period from everyone. Need to wake up and create a forecheck.

The Sabres not starting the year off as the joke we all thought they were is a testament to mindset; these guys are pros at the end of the day, do what got them to this point and they will hang. Good for their fans that they get to see some young players grow and not embarrass themselves night in and out.

Not that many players come off differently, but the combination of Fil’s interviews and play really give off the blunt instrument vibe.

Fil just gave a clinic on canned interview answers.

"Just keep shooting. That's how score goals. "

True, but I don’t think I noticed Laf at all the period. They need to find a way to get him involved
