Agree 100%. Its almost like our fan base wants our young kids to learn in a losing culture to get an 18.5% chance at Hughes.

Yeah exactly, like if you really think about it......how can you...

#1. Really ROOT against your TEAM to LOSE(especially so early)
#2. Expect that these kids will "all of a sudden learn how to win" next season?
#3. And expecting that even if they hit the "lotto" and got this kid Hughes.....that he would suddenly all by himself teach the rest of the team how to win?

Quinn’s post game presser is very good. Love his comments on scratching players.

Basically says that he doesn’t understand how people go crazy when people get scratched for not playing well. He makes the analogy of where else in life do you get to do something professionally when you can’t do it well.

I think it's that way with a lot of teams with that extra point. So much parity and a lot of 3 point games.

Vesey's had a good start to the season. The points are just starting to pick up but really he's always been in the middle of the play and creating chances.

Losing culture is a thing. I do believe in that and its right to not want that for our team.

With that said, these shootout wins are just not enjoyable. We're not doing nearly enough to win games. We're blowing leads, sometimes multiple goal leads on a nightly basis and then somehow recusing these games in a skills comp.

They don't feel like wins. They don't.

I AM AS ANTI TANK AS THEY COME but this is not enjoyable.

We're not even getting anything out of Chytil and Anderson.

Probably to some people dismay, this team has no intention of losing. They’re gunning for playoffs.

It wasn't the greatest game for us but this is a young team that's learning how to win and they stick in there. It might not be a good team but it's a likable team. So I don't mind the two points at all.

And for all the negatives there are positives. Such as:

1. Georgiev standing strong in the 3rd and in the OT.
2. Buchnevich is playing a hell of a lot better. Playing with grit and using his skill.
3. Vesey is playing the best hockey of his life. Clutch tying goal and the shootout winner.
4. DeAngelo playing solid D and sees Buch being abused from the bench--goes out on his next shift and starts a fight with a bigger guy. I don't mind that at all.
5. Hayes our all situations center with 2 more assists. He's putting up offense and playing good D. Zibanejad as well.

The team is trying to win and they're sticking up for each other.

Gotcha....even though this team isn't close to the sum talent in those Torts and AV teams, wins should be held to the same standard.
Everyone wants the vets traded....then they want the 20-year olds to play like vets.
I would think that the character building is happening with these wins....as opposed to losing....just so we can get a higher draft pick.
But hey....these guys should be doing what the Torts and AV teams did now.....bad wins. Uh yeah....

I hear you. But no team in NHL history has complained about winning a shootout.

Two things. One, you’re right about instant gratification. It feels good. I’m very happy tonight, but I know it will hurt in the long run. Two, you’re also correct, but I was referring to the decade before this season where we were “almost good enough.” Now we’re just mediocre, which is worse.

Wins aren't good enough now....it's gotta be not lucky, and they have to outclass their opponents. Anything less should all be losses....because?

Zibanejad is also playing PHYSICAL, engaged hockey, not perimeter hockey. Same with Hayes, not floating and skating forcefully.

Good win against what I think is a really good Jackets team. Lineup full of young players that are producing and we are currently in a playoff spot. Life is good atm.

I do think the wheels will fall off at some point as it happens with young teams especially after we trade Zucca and Hayes.
