I have no expectations for this game, honestly.

However, if Craig Ludwig were to be in the building, someone should give him a slapshot to the crotch and another to the face for good measure, I'd appreciate that.

salei got his revenge on the stars a couple years later when he nearly made modano a quadriplegic. those late 90s games against dallas were always bloodbaths

Beating one good team would be great but that is a high bar here

Dallas record: 11-5-0 (22 pts); Points % = 0.688

Here is the breakdown into three sets.

We have not won a single game against an above .500 team early this season. Surprisingly, we're doing well against 0.500 and sub-.500 teams.

Our next five games:
  • Nov 18: at Dallas (Pts % = 0.688)
  • Nov 19: at Chicago (Pts % = 0.361)
  • Nov 22: Buffalo (Pts % = 0.472)
  • Nov 24: Seattle (Pts % = 0.500)
  • Nov 27: at Seattle (Pts % = 0.500)
There is a very good possibility we could be climbing back toward .500 after the next five games even if we lose tonight.

Comparing to last season, the Ducks at 16 games played had a record of 9-7-0 (18 pts) and a Pts % of 0.563.

I hadnt broken it down like this objectively. Appreciate you have I just knew we hadnt beaten a team above 500 and I think mentally i include the avs who are 500 in the good team bucket but we scraped a point from that disaster

My eyeballs this season against above 500 teams remember 1 good/okay period per game generally and then two bad ones…. Sometimes very bad ones

I want us to play an even game against a team widely considered good… even if we lose. The Minnesota game could have been but we let three softish ones in so the rest of the game as well as it was played almost didnt matter. Statistics / corsi etc aside i think that was our best game against a “good” team by advanced stats and we were down 3-0 after 1 period. First vegas game was i think 1-1 after 1 period then we fell off the bus

(maybe competitive or competent are better words).

If we lose so be it but it would make me feel like progress is being made

Bold prediction for the season... we'll beat a >.500 team this season
