Kreider must have run the goalie but it wasn't visible on camera. I'm sure that's what they're saying in Montreal.

Kakko is almost there. He's playing with more confidence and he's reading the plays better. If he got those one-timers off just a bit faster, he'd have 2 goals tonight.

Still, I think he's not playing a game that's really to his strengths. A lot of this is getting in position and waiting for the play from Panarin or Strome. That said, he's adapting to it, which is always nice to see in itself.

We carried the play up until that penalty, then MTL got going, but they're still not generating that much in dangerous chances.

We deserve this one - close 'em out in the third.

You can see his confidence now. He's suddenly a different player. I love it.

I don't know. Looked like Shesty was getting over. Puck wasn't far corner.

Montreal definitely took over after the penalty, but this is what they do in the offensive zone, point shots, retrieval and keeping up the attack, but not a ton of quality. I thought the Rangers got a bit sloppy in transition, too many turnovers at each blue line.

Shesterkin isn’t particularly sharp tonight either. Pucks bouncing off him all night
A lot of it is because shots are just being tossed on net from anywhere. Not a lot of clear shots and point shots getting through where they can stick to the goalie.

Not a good period. Montreal played hard that period.

Yeah, definitely not ideal. There needs to be good shot volume against an inexperienced goaltender like Primeau. First period was a lot better for that.

Reaves' fight turned the energy a little bit back to us, but this is a game where things are starting to get a bit more physical and you miss a guy like Blais finishing his checks.

Rangers decide they wanted a breakaway or at the very least 2 on 1s that period. Ended up putting them in danger when it didn't work.

Lundqvist has the best hair for any goaltender that played for the Rangers. Hands down.
I mean it's good, but why is his hairline literally not straight? I've never seen that before. Does he cut his hairline on purpose that way? It looks weird AF to me. The rest of the haircut looks amazing on him.
