As I suspected, Gallant is moving Goodrow into Blais's position with Chytil returning as 3C.

Gauthier is finally going to get a shot at playing every game for a stretch in the top 9.
Silver lining, I guess. Though I think Gauthier was making his own way, independent of the Blais injury.

Tonight is probably a good night for Gallagher to avoid the crease. The Rangers must have their backs up after all the physical abuse they’ve taken in the past six months or more. This match could get ugly.

Was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't shock me if we see a few big scrums, especially with Gallagher parking himself in the crease and Anderson potentially running around. I feel like the Rangers are past due for some fireworks. If someone needs to take a message sending penalty early in the game, so be it.

Tired of Reaves doing all that talk and no bite. He is not washed up like Brashear was and even Brashear fought, so I don’t know what his issue is.

OMG I love beating the Habs, and tonight I hope for a very humiliating destruction of the Habs so I can read their boards and troll them on discord haha. I can't STAND the Montreal fans. There are 2 fanbases I really dislike, Philadelphia Eagles fans and Montreal Canadiens. but the Habs take the cake.

Could you imagine a world where our #1 and #2 pick score goals in back to back games?
I’d like to see Kakko score on an actual wrist shot.

Also side note- has anyone else noticed the decline of the slap shot in the NHL? It’s pretty much only used on one timers now. Wrist shots from the point have taken over for their deflection potential and players rarely cock back with the intention of beating the goalie clean anymore.

Precision and speed wins out.

I agree with your first point but Kakko has always scored goals by deking it into the net. His shot has always been below average, he rarely ever sniped it even in Liiga. Because he was such a good goal scorer at every level prior to the NHL people automatically assimilated it with him having an elite shot despite that never being the case

And pure slap shots aren’t used because they’re ineffective

Reaves is a better hockey player than Brashear was. Let’s not act like he’s not been a fantastic addition regardless of his lack of fights.
I hear ya bro, but "fantastic"?
And I'm ALL for grit, toughness and truculence.

I have no confidence Gauthier will be a guy, but man am I hoping.

Your problem is you’re not looking past the grit and toughness he brings. He a legit smart hockey player who knows how to keep the puck in the opposing zone. Every time he has the puck he makes a smart simple play with it. No he’s not like Fox but he has different smarts which has made him valuable for so long. When was the last time you saw Reaves make an actual dumb play? Or take a dumb penalty? He knows “the right way” to play as a 4th line grinder even if he doesn’t have the skill or speed. That’s why he’s still in the league at 35 years old while there are countless enforcers and grinders who have similar size and strength in the AHL and ECHL
