We give up that early goal and Detroit has all the energy to push. Absolutely f***ing minor league horse shit from Smith. Gorton's worst signing by miles. We give up a pair of 2nd rounders for a complete cop out of a defenseman that can't actually defend because management just loves their tough mean players. Smith is an absolute nightmare. I think we keep arriving at the balanced middle ground reality despite efforts to push the conversation to one extreme or the other.

But people legitimately do not want to hear that, and that’s why these GDTs read the way they do.

The narrative is not different than it was a week ago. It’s not different when we drop 4 in a row or win 3 in a row.

This process is going to take a while and, just like it was before, the Rangers are going to match up better with some teams, and not so good with others.

They are going to have moments where it’s clicking. And moments where it’s falling apart.

We need to ACCEPT this.
