it looked like a "finally" reaction. can't blame him considering how the last couple seasons have gone for him. plus the fact that cronin has coached all the excitement out of him

Yeah that was his 1st goal against a goalie. Remember he had an EN goal earlier this season. This entire team is looking for offense. Only Terry has respectable numbers and even that is low for him.

Last night was fun, but Cronin still needs to go. I don’t see them having this scoring consistency through out the season.

I’m not reading anything into his reaction.

I’d probably be disappointed if he acted like he had just scored the cup winning goal. Especially being down 3-2 at that point.

Best Zegras play of the night was the reverse hit on Petry.

I'm not somebody who often reads into reactions and maybe his face after that goal alone wouldn't be that significant.

However, the fact that he also went out of his way to lay somebody out, something I've literally never seen him do, suggests to me that he was angry.

He might have just been angry at the Wings, or about losing, or about not scoring, or about getting bumped down, but he was definitely pissed lol

I took Zegras' reaction to his goal as two things:

- Nothing to celebrate; team is still losing / down a goal.

- I personally think he flubbed his shot a bit, didn't get the proper shot he wanted and it just happened to get lucky and go in fluttering. Maybe bit pissed he almost screwed up such a great chance.

+1 for less enthusiasm while still losing.

Maybe the stick twirl and holster was enough for his celly

I could definitely be looking into it too much but I didn’t think it was a coincidence that he had that reaction immediately after he was put back on the wing and sent back to the 2nd PP unit.

I had a similar thought at the time then his next regular shift was at center with Carlsson.

Zegras with Leo is cool think they could work well together but they still have an anchor with them.

But the issue is Z plays better at C

I rewatched 2 shifts in the 3rd and on one of them it looked like Leo was playing C and the other one it looked like Zegras was playing C. Maybe they were just fluidly switching positions? Idk

If you look real close, you can see them toss a coin to decide who gets to play center before each shift.
