What could the Canucks get for the 15th overall pick + Mynio + ?

Other assets I could see them trading are Garland, Myers (if Willander takes his spot) Demko (if he doesn’t intend to re-sign), and 2nd round picks.

The Canucks aren’t particularly rich in expendable assets as they are desperate to make the playoffs and need to add basically 3 top 6 players.

Ideal targets would be players like Sillinger, Rossi, and Hayton (not saying it makes sense for their respective teams to trade them).

If Florida re-signs Bennett, then I could see Vancouver offering Willander(+?) for Lundell.

I don't think this package is going to get the Canucks what they want. Probably need to be another add in there to get anyone decent ie Lekkermaki.

I think trading Willander would be very short sighted. You move heaven and earth to not have to trade him.

Montreal board has the same need and has talked about a pretty wide range of youngish 2Cs. You could consider adding guys like Zacha, Beniers, Bourque, McTavish, McMichael, Lundell, Mercer, Barzal, Pinto, Cirelli, and Roy to your list of targets.

However, just about every player on this list is either not realistically available or not a legitimate/immediate/guaranteed fit at 2C for a competitive team. Removing the "youngish" criteria might help if you're only offering picks/prospects.

In terms of market value, MTL is not remotely short of expendable assets and would probably attempt to outbid the 15OA + Mynio offer by a fair margin. I think there are several other teams that are in a similar position that would do the same. It's a tough summer to be looking for an established top-6 center!

Nothing you offered is getting Rossi! Lundell isn’t getting traded! He’s a big part of a Stanley Cup contender! Offer something serious if you want a 2c

You're not getting a youngish 2C for that package. That's basically what Montreal traded for Kirby Dach back in 2022, who was nowhere even close to a 2C at the time of the trade and has continued to not be a 2C since.

Rossi is your best bet to target but he's likely costing more than just this. You're probably going to have to add another late 1st in value on top of this to get Rossi.

I don’t see the bolded being available unless they demand a trade or some of their team’s prospects leapfrog these players. Barzal mostly plays wing so I don’t think he’s the best option.

Yeah that’s fine. I’m open to a young 3C with room to grow like Dach was, which is why I listed Sillinger.

No to the bolded

15th and Mynio is a pretty meh package considering what you're after. Demko probably doesn't have any value considering his injury status. Garland does, but it wasn't that long ago his name was mud too.

Young, established 2C's are a tough commodity to trade for. Teams that have them don't frequently want to move them.

You're probably either looking at someone in the 23-25 range that hasn't broken out yet or someone older getting pushed out by an up and comer or a cap squeeze.

Not moving the needle in getting a young 2C

About 12 other teams want someone similar

Garland, Myers (if anyone wants him) Blueger, and prospects like Silovs, Raty, Kudryavtsev, Karlsson would also be available.
Pretty much any team in the league would take Myers at 3 M x 2 more years. However, he has a NTC l, he loves K town and he is revered on this team that needs all the leadership it can muster. He gets way too much heat on these boards.

There are too many other teams also desperate for a quality young 2C, and they're also the sort of player that is rarely traded at all, unless there are serious issues or extenuating circumstances. Too many other teams in that search also have better expendable assets than the Canucks to realistically move. It's obviously what they're likely going to try to do, but it's hard to see it working out and yielding the sort of youngish 2C that you're seeking here.

Demko likely re-signs but to say he has no value is silly. Plenty of valued assets have had a few years of injury misery and his value is re-couped in the fact his next contract will reflect his string of injuries.

As for this proposal, if Mynio, who by all accounts is a great prospect is "the prospect" piece of the deal, at least another pick and a good roster player would need to go back.

Personally , I think we will say goodbye to Lekkerimakki and or Mancini plus multiple picks before the draft even takes place.

They are rich with assets if you trade willander or dpetey, which I think is going to take to get a bigger centre.

If I had to make a tier list of our assets:

Dpetey ( Yes, he has surpassed everybody, and it has become our best prospect, he is an absolute stud, size, grit, skating, the fact he fell in the draft makes absolutely no sense. Had played great for the canucks as a rookie in the NHL since the call up, hes gonna be our top pairing Defensive Dman in the future.
Hopefully no sophomore slump.

Willander - Big, defensive dman who skates like the wind, extremely smart, limited offensive capabilities for now, would suck to trade him, but you need to give to get,

15th overall - self-explanatory, mid pick, bad high end draft, but decent depth.

Lekkerimaki - Young sniper who has been average in the NHL this year, but had a great AHL regular season.
Average/bad in the ahl playoffs, but I’m hearing it’s mostly because of medical problems, or just learning how hard it is.

Mancini - he came in from the Rangers on the JT Miller package, and he has surpassed the expectations in pretty much every way.
Does not have as much high-end potential, but could be a long time floor 4-5-6th RHD.

Overall, there’s enough there to get a number two centre if you wanna pay

No teams is trading a young two C for Dman. A team might do it for a willander package but not anything else.

Mynio is a solid prospect but he’s the third piece in the deal, not the second, if you are truly serious about a long-term top six center add. Or, more likely, he’s the depth piece you hold on to, to backfill the loss of the better piece you gave up in the deal.
