Pavel Bure, Patrick Kane, Dicke Moore, Mike Modano, Joe Nieuwendyk, and Mats Sundin I think are questionable members of this list.

From Bruins history, Frank Brimsek, Dit Clapper, and Bill Cowley deserve to be one of the top 100 NHL players of all time.7

EDIT: I have mistaken Dicke Moore with Dick Duff :D, my mistake. Dicke Moore belongs on the list

Question: is hockey your first sport?

Didn't make the list but still HOF worthy, Martin St. Louis. Brett Hull wasn't drafted the first year he was eligible but was taken in the 6th round the next year

I scrolled down the list aside from the geezers(sorry don't care much about them).from my memory all the other players were drafted..
The players that I know and watched.
Another excellent nhler not on the list and signed as an FA...Joe Mullen

Hey mod .. why do my phrases get broken like that when I submit reply. ...is this board functionality not samsung s3 friendly?

The board software was developed before smartphones and tablets came along.

This will be addressed st the end of the season when we move to a new platform. Not doing it sooner because we don't want to be offline for a couple of days during the season.

GAiney Was shutting people down in an era there was no trap... no lw lock... guys flying down the wing untouched and unleashing snapshots

Gainey was so far and away the best defensive player of his era that he won the trophy without being a 60 point scorer :)

And of course the Russians called gained the best player in the world.

And of course that great Canadian team with all those hof players thought enough of gainey to make him their captain

If he's on the top 100, you don't need to feel the list is cheapen. Hes well deserving

Actual quote from Russian coach:

"technically the most complete player in the world."

Just my take - I actually saw him play entire career and maybe 50-100 times live and I'd take Rick Middleton over him 100 out of 100 as would the Bertuccis Apostles

Then where are we supposed to then go to vent our frustration about Don's lack of action on the trade front or talk about how (insert player here) will make everything all better or just generally complain about how boring summer sports are.

:sarcasm:

I'm going with Bourque here without a second thought

There is a good argument for Bourque being better than Leetch offensively. That would be the numbers. Though Leetch's offensive numbers were better than Bourque's in the playoffs.

But Bourque couldn't rush the puck like Leetch. To me, if my team was down a goal with 2 minutes to go, I'd want Orr and then Leetch.

Ray Bourque is the 11th All Time point leader.

11th All Time!!!! And there isn't another defenseman within 200 points other than Paul Coffey

He opened up by winning ROY and ended 20+ Years later playing all star hockey and hoisting a Cup

Oh, and he was the best defensive defenseman I ever saw

I have him in my Top 10 All Time list

Leetch is a HOF but he might not even be in my top 10 defenseman

You would take Middleton defensively over Gainey?

No because Gainey is the gold standard

Middleton was an elite defensive forward

Gainey was Bill Mazeroski but Middleton was like Ryne Sandberg

It's a well known fact among insiders like myself why he's not in due to suing the NHL

The Bertucci Apostles during our recent supper concur 11-1 that Gainey couldn't carry Middleton jacques

Just talking offense here.

You should have mention 13 first team and 6 second team post season all-star berths. Only Mr. Hockey with more.

I have Bourque just outside of my Top 10 (11-13).

Wouldn't have Leetch in my top 10 Dmen either. Wouldn't have Coffey either.

I've always though he should be in the HHOF. But his career was relatively short with barely a point a game in the highest scoring era in NHL history. Only one all-star berth, only twice top 10 in scoring.

I'd move Chelios up ahead of Stevens.

Move Robinson behind Potvin.

Switch Lapointe and Niedermayer.

Switch Coffey and Salming.

Might have Langway instead of Blake.

A little tweekin'.

The only other guy i could make any case for (that i can think of) is Phil Housley. but he was sooooo one dimensional

The NHL will never release the vote totals but we would all love to know who was ranked #101-#110.

Joe Thornton should have made the cut as should have Doug Gilmore. I think Towes and Keith being included was wrong but I would love to know who was on the bubble.
