Rupp, Army, and Bourque are just massive homers and actually have nothing remotely interesting to say other than glazing the shit out of Sullivan and Crosby. I’d be fine with Bartkowski but it looks like he was too honest for the Penguins to keep around.

It’s funny how much hate Brindy gets for coaching the Canes like this at times when he needs them to play tighter hockey, like it’s a bad thing, Necas has like 20pts in 11 games, they’re not struggling for offense while playing this way and making adjustments.

Penguins couldn’t play any form of this under Sullivan’s guidance if they worked on it for an entire month with practices.

Pens used to play that aggressive on the PK, they still do with Doc & Eller, but the other PK’ers don’t. Canes just pressure the shit out of the powerplay to force passes and don’t really worry about the front of the net as much because of that, hoping for a turnover to go the other way.

Jesse it’s called coaching, coaches are supposed to plan against the team they play against and minimize opportunities and stifle them to win.

You know, winning, the thing this team used to like doing with coaches that gave a shit.

It’s the way they want to run it, like the 2nd unit is to defer to Letang which is hilarious, because you see players with a clear shot and its like they have to pass it back to Letang first.

Carolina taking the Penguins to the woodshed every year isn't that impressive. It doesn't take some genius-level coach and organization to gameplan against a guy that just does the same thing every game and whose big adjustments include things like "put Lars Eller on PP1 instead of Malkin" and "scratch the players that are useful because they are from Europe and not Brainerd MA." It's like winning a sack race when you're the only guy that doesn't have to wear a sack and celebrating at the finish line like you just did something.

I bet you Carolina never wins anything with this coach/system.

Whether Carolina wins anything or not is irrelevant, they’re in the conversation for being in the dance so they can at least have that conversation to begin with.

Matt Bartkowski and Bob Errey are the two I hire full time for the Pens broadcasts, let ESPN and Amazon have Rupp and Army full time.

I don’t get why they decided not to keep Bartkowski on more, I get he wasn’t an ass kisser but that’s what you need, someone that tells it like it is and nails it when he does.
