This sucks for Ned, he’s a good bloke like Jarry and Blomqvist and doesn’t deserve this shit. But Ned is also a goalie that can’t play that many in a row and last season in his “run” he was allowing 3+ a night, he’s a goalie that can’t play in a bunch but is great in every other game or two usage. Joel should have started this one given Ned has played 5 in a row now, Blomqvist last played vs the Wild and he wasn’t bad in that game given the fact that he faces a f*** ton more shots and handles that better.

Just f*** off already Mike Sullivan, I am bordering on legitimately hating this bloke rather than despising him as just a coach and that’s been hard to just limit to that as well given the shit he’s done.

Islanders aren’t a good team and Sullivan got schooled by Patrick Roy in the end.

They showed up acting like they had it in the bag vs a team missing 2 top 4 defensemen and 2 top 6 forwards as well as depth players and ended up blowing a 3-1 lead.

Buffalo and Habs are shit shows, so are Ducks, they’re coached insanely poorly, but the Isles suck because of their GM and have a terrible roster and still won.

In any case, I love Kochetkov, he’s a character and plays with a ton of emotion which isn’t normal for a goalie these days, most are very calm and reserved, like the 3 on the Pens, Sheshterkin, Vas, literally all goalies are pretty calm and are called odd because of it.

Pyotr has a short fuse like Roy and Smith but he doesn’t lose his shit like they do in the worst ways, he just battles back and gets chippy, it’s fun to see. Saw him a lot when I was tuning into more AHL games last couple of seasons.

Funny thing about him is that he’s 6’3” but plays almost smaller in net and you’re almost shocked to see what his actual height is.

Pens play better on the 2nd of back to backs, so I expect them to battle hard vs the Caps with Joel and still lose but at least not as badly as this.

I was definitely one of the most vocal wankers here about Sullivan and his bullshit with the Ian Cole thing and the petty usage of Ryan Reaves, so I have been bordering on it for a long time and I am just over it now, f*** Mike Sullivan entirely as a shitty bloke.

FSG wants to act like ticket sales are inconsequential as long as they’re competing and competitive as a team to maximize this hall of fame core or whatever Werner verbally vomited out to the Pens media. But you can’t act like this team is going to win shit with Sullivan, these losses are basically it, they’re already out.

15 games last year they were 8-7 and the excuse was the powerplay being ass is why they didn’t make the playoffs.


This year in 15 games they’ll be 5-8-2 and their powerplay isn’t 25th ranked like last year and a 9th ranked PK, their powerplay is ranked 10th and the PK is ranked 7th, so the special teams aren’t an excuse, those goals didn’t mean shit like it was pointed out by a bloke on Reddit that went into detail last season that the powerplay goals they could have scored wouldn’t have resulted in enough to make the playoffs because if you adjust it for the Pens you adjust it for other teams as well to raise up the rate.

So 3 straight playoff misses. The only way they make the playoffs is if they fire Sullivan and have a Knobber type of run or a typical Pens firing a coach mid season run.

I said before the Anaheim/Montreal games that we'd probably win those and the media would talk about Sullivan getting the Pens back on track and then they'd go on this three game road trip against actual NHL teams and get a healthy dose of reality again.

And here we are. I'm not smart for predicting this. Anyone with a brain knew it would happen.
