Would rather a regulation loss than OTL loss as I am on team tank

Not a fan of MM being scratched for a 2nd game in a row but my hope is that it was planned rest as he hasn’t played anything close to 82 games in a season recently. If he is scratched a 3rd game in a row without an injury disclosed it is complete bullshit and unforgivable

Good for Richard
Search your feelings, you know this isn't true.

At this point I wouldn’t mind trading Frost. It would give him a fresh start and taking out one of our top 2 centers in an already weakened state might bottom us out. I’m not as high on Frost as some here but I think he can still be like a 60 point or so center in ideal conditions. Problem is he’s not going to move the needle for Flyers much in the future most likely
I don't think anybody here has higher expectations then that.

The Flyers played on this road trip like they were playing last season.
The template, aggressive forecheck, hound the other team for 200 feet, roll 3 lines for about equal minutes.
They don't have enough talent to be a playoff team with this style without a few more players, but the template is set.

Sanheim is making a case for being a #1 D-man, playing big minutes and carrying the load.
Risto has been solid, but a little high in the lineup.
Andrae gets better each game, still making mistakes where he tries to do too much, but smooth skater, good passer, nice vision, shows no fear.
Drysdale has rocks for brains, he's got all the physical tools but he reminds me of TDA without the psychosis. See sheltered 3rd pair role in his future. Of course, Gauthier has 0 goals in 13 games.
Zamula is meh, depth guy, may get moved this summer.

Richard is showing what they already knew, he's a AAA plus guy. He's fast but smaller, lacks enough skill for top 9 and isn't really a NHL forechecker.
Farabee seems to have his mojo back, but so many chances.
Tippett is flying again and making things happen, 2 posts.
Brink is skating much better and starting to show his skill package.
Couts is an older version of himself, really a D first center who's best crashing the net on offense.
Frost is what he is, a 3C who can be carried by wings who open up space for him, but isn't a 2C who can drive a line and raise his linemates' play. Best with Tippett and TK, like last season.
Laughton's value has rebounded nicely and rebuilt his value. They'll move him either this TDL or next season after Luchanko has 60 games under his belt (and Laughton is a pending UFA).

Foerster - Couts - Michkov
Tippett - Frost - TK
Farabee - Laughton - Brink
should be your top 3 lines.

I think the reason they didn't bring up Lycksell is they don't see a role for him, not top 9 with this group, lacks speed.
I think they want to keep adding speed, especially the bottom six, if you can't score, raise hell.

Avon has speed but isn't ready, Tuomaala has speed but is still focused on offense, hasn't realized his ticket is 4th line forechecker, then work your way up the lineup, not good enough to be gifted a top 9 spot.

What is even the point of using the word "result" in that tweet. A team playing somehow for >120 minutes is a result of a rookie not being there? Ehh?
I don't think it has anything to do with Michkov's absence, though it may counsel playing him fewer 5x5 minutes when he returns in a more sheltered role. Right now his value is on the PP, at ES he's probably a net liability. So cut him back to 10-11 minutes at ES and 3 minutes on the PP. He's 19, he shouldn't be playing a major role just yet.

It's more about the rest of the team getting their mojo back, they didn't suddenly regress en masse from last season.

This f***ing guy.

I mean, he.s not wrong. These were the Flyers best two games.

But it has nothing to do with scratching Michkov. He’s just looking for engagement. Classic bait.

I’m a fan of Andrae. He looks much smarter, quicker to make decisions, and overall more complete than Drysdale. Was Drysdale with Zamula at the end? Looked like Andrae/Sanheim for a while.

If Torts scratches MM when I’m in town for the game, I will take a leak on his tires. He might never know, but I will, and it will make me smile.

Over on Flyers official Facebook page, the comments are making Torts the new Scotty Bowman. Unbelievable
I’m so tired of the Flyers’ leadership acting as if they’re smarter than everyone else in the game with the way that they operate. Fifty some years of no SC says that they’re not. When the obvious thing to do stares you in the face do it. Play the kid! Draft the BPA! And so forth. Stop trying to be cute. Your record shows that you’re not.

This is what baffles me, it's clearly organizational... But it can't be all people in that org are so collectively... unique thinking. Are they hiring only yes-men with similar philosophy? Or are there people in org that are bigger than others and can force their views/approach on all others? A bit of column A, bit of column B?

I think it's both. You have the organizational titans who steer the club direction. If a person doesn't conform, they're gone. Hell, the GM role was contingent on keeping Tortorella as coach. They self limit and they're proud of it.

Charlie had a report that the leaders “ Laughton” agree with his benching of MM and hearing Laughton spew Torts nonsense in the interview , we have a long way to drop yet. We are nowhere near rock bottom.

And now Torts is rock hard talking about how they playing. Jesus H Christ
Any link or what was said as would love to read this propaganda.

This road trip was the first time they looked like last season.

Fast, aggressive forecheck, attacking the O-zone, getting back on defense, challenging D-men at the on in the D-zone instead of collapsing into a shell.

This is the team they want to build. Similar to Carolina.

It was a fun game with players flying up and down the ice, the overtime was the Bob show, Flyers almost won the game a couple times.

When is Seeler going to get JD going and thrive? Seeler has looked rather pedestrian. Though that is what a 3rd pair looks like.

Still spewing the trade Laughton nonsense. He will get an ext before he is moved. Laughton has not increased his value either. Just like they will trade Seeler in year 3 right and GH as well.

Says who on Tuomaala you? Organization sees him differently at the moment.

Bottom line is this just isnt a very talented team. Saying they can't finish is part of the not being talented part.

This team isnt very good. How many will still be here in 3/4 years? All of them of course except Frostsky.

Have the Flyers ever said they want to uild like Carolina? Heard the CO-GM mention the Blues couple weeks ago. This is another BS narrative you keep trying to push with zero facts.
