[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

We were trying a lot of plays that weren’t there in the beginning. We were causing our own problems with turnovers and they made us pay.
- Marc Staal

It’s definitely a lesson for all of us that you have to be so careful with the puck, especially when you play top teams and their top lines.
They’re so fast at turning mistakes into scoring chances and they’re good. You have to give it to them, as well.
That’s why they’re a top team. We have to be smart and hungry and play a desperate game from the get go.
- Henrik Lundqvist

In the 1st period we had a couple of neutral zone turnovers and, on the first goal and neutral zone and end zone turnover that led to them capitalizing on some mistakes.
After that, I thought in the 2nd we had some opportunities to make them pay, we only made them pay once. In the 3rd, they’re a good team and they showed it tonight.
- Alain Vigneault

Beat down those big, fat, flightless birds!

Hagelin, Richards, Stepan score in a 3-1 win.

LGR!

Also: WTF is Pyatt doing on the third line? I was defending him early on in the season when he was playing reasonably well, but his game has fallen off a cliff while Dorsett has been getting better and better. If Brass is to be condemned to the 4th, at least make the 3rd: Pouliot-Boyle-Dorsett.

Loffon, pls. Koivu is still listed under the opponents IR table.

Nothing like a GDT in the morning to start the day right. Expecting the worst for this one. Hoping for a 60 minute effort win or lose. Division points like this are big any time in the season.

Honestly, we should win this as long as we can contain their first line. Their bottom 9 is awful since Malkin has been sucking 5v5.

Though we need to score on more than 4.4% of our 5v5 shots, that is laughably bad.

If we give them time and space around our goal, theire scary as few..

If we man up, take them out and frustrate them we got a shot at this one..

That is if we score on our chances..

Btw: I love to see McD ship Crosby into our bench a couple of times this game..

Crosby can't be shipped anywhere without drawing a penalty and the offender being swamped by every player from the Penguins on the ice at the time. It's really not worth all the trouble.

Don't get embarrassed so at least I can hold on to a glimmer of hope that this season will at least be entertaining.

As championship said I viewed the last game as a test and it's hard to determine much based on that game. They played fairly well but made some bone head decisions. Anaheim was able to capitalize and we weren't. Let's see what happens tonight.

Well if the Sabers can beat the Sharks, I guess anything is possible.

Another test for this Rangers team. Hope to see Hank tonight, and Prince Cam tomorrow against CBJ.

I think if they play the way they did against Anaheim, we have a good shot. Just need to capitalize on some of our chances. If Kreider or Pouliot bury their golden opportunities in the third period of Monday's game, this board is a lot different than it is.

Stay out of the box. Don't give Crosby or Malkin time and space.

LGR

Oh noo. Last game and this game are good "where we are as a team at this point in the season" tests. I was pretty content with the Ducks game, now we have to carry it over and improve for tonight.

and Miller better not get scratched again over Pyatt. send him down already and call up Haley... Miller is learning a lot from not playing....
