I think it's just his style. But now that he might have lost a half-step, it suddenly looks like he's coasting.

He used to fairly regularly win 1 on 1s, 1 on 2s, sometimes 1 on 3s in the corners and just carry zone time and he seemingly can't anymore. Without that skillset he's just an above average second liner

Is anyone else slightly concerned about Chytil's spatial/situational awareness at NHL level? It seems that he often loses track of where the opposition players and ends up turning the puck over because there was a player in an area he didn't expect them to be

If it is true, he got a longer stick. Then that explains why he stopped skating. I 100% agree with coasting comments. He cant make playes when he doesnt skate.
