I wouldn't get too excited, we are playing a team that recently lost their franchise centerman and has only scored 7 goals in their last 5 games.

The 4th line has been fine all year. It's lines 2 + 3 along with the defense thats been the problem.

Scott is a guy that only plays 3-4 minutes per night though, he shouldn't be an every day player. It is nice to have guys on the 4th line that we can actually play more.

I say dress him only against Boston... maybe Toronto too..

I like fighting (even staged fighting) and like having Scott on the bench. But I'm with you...play him when you go into a warzone, not every game. On other nights, roll a fourth line that can play regular minutes and leave your lines in tact all night. The fourth line has been very good tonight and has been generating chances. Cody McCormick can play hockey, and if it comes to dustups with Ottawa, he can handle Neil just fine.

I agree, however I like that they have 4th line that can be left on the ice against the other teams top line..

No they can't. You're forgetting Ottawa has no top line with Spezza out.

McCormick/Hecht/Kaleta is not going out vs Crosby, Giroux or any other top line.

Lets not get carried away.

First period thoughts...

1. Stafford :shakehead You HAVE to bury that chance.

2. So hip checks are now tripping penalties?

3. Referees need to let both teams play.

4. They are looking better on D, even if it is against an offensively challenged team.

Btw I have no issue with Scott not playing or only being dressed in certain situations.

But let's not pretend we have a shutdown line with the current makeup with the fourth line. Or that that lines makeup was the problem the last several games.

Remember when this game was played by men? Such mamby-pamby penalties tonight on both teams.

I was thinking the same thing a few minutes ago! In 20 years there's going to be no contact NHL hockey with little stop signs on players backs like some kids jerseys have. :biglaugh:
