When the options are him, Merrill and Chisholm, yes he is.Is he the best guy to play at this exact moment in time, though? TBD
Yeah sure but you can also turn that argument around. He wasn’t any better. I am not harping on the guy, more questioning the coaching staff for their decisions. Because this could have been expected. From what little I saw, he wasn't significantly worse than the rest of the d-corps. That all made mistakes.
You more concerned about the short term implications (team would’ve been better w/ Merrill / Chisholm) or Buium’s development being rushed from being thrown into the fire so quickly?Yeah sure but you can also turn that argument around. Well, people were going to riot if Buium wasn't in the lineup for Game 1, so there's that. You more concerned about the short term implications (team would’ve been better w/ Merrill / Chisholm) or Buium’s development being rushed from being thrown into the fire so quickly?
I think it was the right call. We had to see what we have in the kid. I hope they keep him in and with a long leash. He’s clearly extremely talented and brings a much needed skillset to the table.
This is why it was important that he play against Anaheim in game 82. It’s a lot easier to learn from mistakes against a bad team that might screw up converting on your mistake than to learn against Vegas.Well, people were going to riot if Buium wasn't in the lineup for Game 1, so there's that.

I don't think this impacts his develompent AT ALL. First game in the NHL is always special and like everyone said he was doing allright. The thing is with the Wild playing him in this game over Merrill and Chisholm they must have thought he can bring something more than them and I am not sure he did at this specific point in time. Merrill had some really good games this year too at various points in the season, could have not forced Bogo to make that step up at the blueline on the third goal. Who knows? You more concerned about the short term implications (team would’ve been better w/ Merrill / Chisholm) or Buium’s development being rushed from being thrown into the fire so quickly?

I can see the argument for Merrill, as I think he’s been pretty good in spots this year. But Chisholm has been a disaster lately and brings just as much risk with significantly less upside.I don't think this impacts his develompent AT ALL. Yes, the series is lower stakes. Everyone and their mother count us out. But they HAD to atleast make the playoffs.Way too much at stake in a game against Anaheim. Much better to do it in a lower pressure, lower stakes environment like game 1 in Vegas.
John Hynes is an NHL coach and you're not, so you can't criticize anything he does, ever.
Hopefully they rotate Bogo and Merrill if needed agreedMerril is at his peak and never going to be any better , Zeev is at his floor and is going ti get better every game.
If you want to see Merril so bad send Bogo to the press box for costing us that game with his atrocious play
Retweet.Merril is at his peak and never going to be any better , Zeev is at his floor and is going ti get better every game.

Then start him with 46. Give him opportunities to create off the draw and don’t use his partner as an excuse. Teams do it all the time. Not when you know who his partner is.
Zeev was fine. Skating was better than i thought it would be, but he needs to recalibrate to the speed, power, and smarts of the NHL. No coasting back on the puck retrievals(as someone else on here said)... you need to get to the puck ASAP. With some work on his skating with the Ness's, he'll be a vg skater.
The last pass, again, he probably could've gotten away with in college. I would bet he doesn't make that mistake again. i do question Hynes decision to stick him out there in his very 1st NHL game, leaving guys like Faber and Spurgeon on the bench.
Faber made a mistake on the 1st goal, Bogo a big, and unforced one, on the 3rd. I'm not going to get on Zeev for that final one.
He has already made Chisholm redundant. Merrill, too, though he plays a different game.
You're not wrong. I will pass your thoughts on to Hynes. Then start him with 46. Give him opportunities to create off the draw and don’t use his partner as an excuse. Teams do it all the time.
Don’t bother. You could give him an entire roster of young talent and he’d still find a way to stifle every f***ing one them’s developmentYou're not wrong. I will pass your thoughts on to Hynes.
I think he was competitive as a raw talent and that just speaks to what a valuable player he’s going to be. Kind of like the first time Neo moved like an agent and Trinity was like “you move like they do” and then he go shot lolHope he has a good summer of training, but you can only hurry development so much. He is still very young. I think the few games he got in were invaluable. Showed him what he was in for.
