I’ve mentioned before that I do a lot of cycling using Zwift. One of the features they have is that you can send messages to other people riding or if you want, to everyone out there in Zwift-land. So during my ride (which I just finished) I see a message from a guy called Matthew Lefthand. He is attempting to set a 24 hour virtual cycling distance record. He said he was about 9 hours in and had done 200-some miles and was about to take his first “nature break”. Apparently he’s done 24 hr rides before, he said the last time after the ride he consumed 6000 calories of oatmeal. So just as I’m about to finish my easy 25 miles, he goes SHOOTING past me. I know it’s him because they put a red banner attached to his avatar (like when they attach those labels to athletes during a game). I was doing probably about 18 mph, and he just zoomed past me… must have been doing around 25 mph. Apparently he’s had a decent career in long distance cycling, which I found out by googling.

@VladDrag 7 over, 79 today down at Wyncote. Got to experience their rerouting for the first time. Hit the ball pretty well. Had a hosel off the tee on a par 3 which lead to a double and then one with a 56° from 100 yards which lead to a bogey. Did chip in for birdie on the second hole, the old 11th, which helped lead to only 31 putts on the day, no 3 putts either.

Turned out to be a beautiful day and was less windy than what I expected

He finished at 8:00 am Eastern time this morning. 650 miles, he was still doing 25-30 mph at the end. Insane.

We had an unexpected visitor at the cabin this past weekend. I knocked on the window that's about 8ft away and it looked me dead in the eyes and bolted. The bastard came back at 4am and took out both bird feeders. It was MUCH bigger in person, that nest cam picture does it no justice.

Also had a hell of a start to the 2025 fly fishing season. Landed two fish that were bigger than anything I caught all last year. My soul's vibe tank has been adequately filled for the time being.
