In Casablanca for the first time.

It is pretty disappointing. Not even in my top 5 cities in Morocco so far ahaha.

Can understand why the actual Rick's was based on a place in Tangier ahaha.

The old Medina is alright. The Art Deco old French quarter is kind of cool I guess. The main Mosque is crazy impressive and it has the sea... but that is about it.

Fez is still #1 even though I am heavily biased.

I've been looking to go to Marrakesh for a while now.

Fez is even more impressive I think, and you get harassed less. Imagine being in a living, breathing medieval Arabic city... it is that... and has the oldest university in the world and so much culture. You could go into the Medina there for years... I mean it... and still find new things every single day. It is like a warren with centuries of history embedded.

But Marrakech is great too, 100% worth going. And you can go between all the major cities (aside from Agadir) by train as well, albeit the inter-city busses are also very good.

The whole country is fascinating and varies so much between city and region landscape wise as well. From dessert to plains to mountains within hours.

Also pretty safe in general I feel. I have never really felt unsafe in maybe 20 days in the country in every major city. Ofc yeh, be sensible but no more dangerous than Europe really.

But my advice if you go is just learn very basic Darija Arabic.

Wa/ah (yes, depends on region which way pronounce)
La (no)
Safi (enough, you can use it when you have said la, smelleh or la, shokran and someone is still trying to sell you something)
Smelleh (sorry)
Slama (see you later)
Salam (hello)
Shokran (thanks)

if you know those words and then maybe even a few words of French (and a lot of people speak some English or Spanish) your time there will be fantastic. People who would ignore your "no" in English or French will immediately stop, and hospitality there is amazing to begin (like, think meet someone and they invite you to their mothers house for dinner that day hospitality, and they mean it!) but will be even better with 10 words.

Also, if you want to make people laugh, when they offer you something for a price (they will start high) just say "Bezaaf khoya... nekas chweya" (that is way too much my brother... make it less) and most will probably crack up, and give you a decent price. Partially because Bezaaf is one of the best sounding words in any language so everyone will love you know it aha. Or "la flous khoya!" (I have no dough my brother!)

My Cat Converter on my GMC died about a year ago and ive been driving around on it ever since. Inspection is up and now i have to take it through the inspection lane at th DMV here in Delaware and so i took it to the shop last friday to get them to take a look. They thought they could try and swap spark plugs and run some cat cleaner shit through the system and it may do the trick....i said fine if it saves me a 1500 bucks....It didn't. Then they replaced the Cat and a secondary air intake error code came up after that...which they've been struggling to clear. The finally got it cleared, took it through inspection and it failed...not due to anything they did, but theres a small crack about the size of a key in the top right corner of the windshield....have to get that replaced now.

Got two quotes on the cat converter....first quote was 1900...so i called my dads friends shop, they said 1500, but tried to get the first "fix" for me at 300.... so ended up owing them 1800. now the windshield...first quote was 350, second quote is 230.

good thing my tax refund came through this week.

Well that sucks. I had to deal with a large crack that had to be replaced then a couple of weeks later that was able to be repaired. On top of that I got pulled over for driving in the break down lane. All this happened within a couple of months last year. Of course my car insurance went up even tho I had never been pulled over for anything since 2001.

I drive an old Ranger as my “dog/camping” truck. I have to rev the engine the whole time in the deq line to get it to pass emissions by cleaning out the cat

I'm currently an Instructional Coach for a school district with 950 teachers. A part of that job is rolling out professional development sessions that are differentiated based on their role or what they teach, so there are about 10 different "paths" and 20 different courses those people might take to get their required number of hours each year. I also then need to keep track of who has completed their PD for the year.

The PD hours are "due" by April 30th each year, so yesterday I ran a report. About 700 of the 950 already completed their stuff. Great. Awesome. I sent the other 250 a mail merged email letting them know exactly what courses they needed to finish before April 30th. That email also included links with video directions on how to register for the courses they were missing and how to access the Asynchronous Course materials.*

Back in November I started planning to get out and I was offered a job to teach elsewhere in early March, so I'm currently just waiting out my 60 day hold until I start at the new school on May 5th. The 50 or so mail merge related emails I've received from the 250 people who got them with insane questions is bad enough, but I think this "mystery texter" takes the cake for creating a great summary for exactly why I'm leaving. I blocked out the phone number, but it is just numbers. This person isn't in my contacts. I legit don't know who they are or how they got my personal cell phone number.

This is exactly why I quit. I can't believe there are people like this. I'm done doing extra work because other people refuse to do simple aspects of a job they are getting paid to do. I don't even know which is the worst part:

1. Not even really knowing what the email was about, despite it being clear enough for 700 people to have already finished this task.
2. Calling the Professional Development stuff that I literally make "dumb crap", in a text message, to me.
3. Not being able to figure out what sessions they need to do in an email that has a section that says "Missing Sessions: XXXX"
4. Asking me how to do the sessions despite there being video instructions included in the email for how to do the sessions and then sending me a picture of my own email from their laptop that is literally showing the video instructions included in the email for how to do the sessions.

This reality sucks. I want out.

*Which I also made the sessions in the program to register, the Asynchronous Course materials which includes Slide Decks, Video Screencasts of those Slide Decks, Knowledge Check Quizzes, and Discussion Questions, and both of those video directions. The sessions were also run in-person at least 5 times in the past 10 months and have been available online to be taken at any time during the same time period.

I have been told by many people that my ability to do my job for 8 hours straight while doing everything that my job entails, daily, for years, is a superpower if I can manage to communicate that in applications.

Considering how often I'll have stretches where the main justification for my job is picking up the slack from people not doing theirs, I buy this. I don't understand it, but I buy it. The downside is that when I'm not working I'm pretty wiped out mentally.

Congrats! Another banner for the squad.

@VladDrag and I lost again tonight. That brings our record to 0-5 on the season. Quick turnaround with another game Wednesday night at 7:30. Already lost to this team once, they've got a guy that played in the AHL and another that played in the O. We're also expecting a light bench. Don't like the odds for us to get our first W of the season in this one.

I think I need a new avatar but I’m completely disinterested in the team and have no idea what direction I should take it.
Maybe I’ll be lazy use a @Beef Invictus fever dream gameday thread AI pic.
