Door to door vacuum scams are showing up in North Raleigh (today). Do not let them in - call the police.

Edit details: Came to the door, claiming to be from Kirby and wanting to come inside the house and give a demonstration.

Fellow Pens fans, I am having the ********* day. I didn't know when I got to university, I would inadvertently get sucked into Means Girls 2. My floormates are hella loud, and after reporting them twice to the RA in three days, they vandalized the chalkboard hanging on my door, and posted a nasty anonymous message to my university's "Spotted At..." page.
I guess what I'm saying is I really ****ing hope the Pens win. And that no one else gets injured.

My wife actually bought a Kirby from the door to door people last year. And we've been visited three times since. I don't think the ones around here are criminal, just annoying.

Reminds me of reverend Jim for those old enough to remember that show.

I want to get my fiance's fiddle repaired for Christmas. It's not a super fancy thing, just something he likes to pluck around on, and I have no idea what's broken. Does anybody know or have experience with an instrument repair person in the area that can diagnose the problem and do the repair? Thanks in advance!

This is kind of a stretch to assume that a fake door to door sales crew in Washington State and Peoria, Illinois have anything to do with something happening here. I think they are much more likely to be robbing people by selling them a high quality, but insanely expensive vacuum cleaner.

I think calling the police is excessive unless you see evidence that they are not what they appear to be. I do think not letting them in is good advice.

So Hainsey is pretty bad. I mean, it's not like the rest of them are good, but he really isn't good.

On the plus side, I think Tlusty's had a good game, in that I've noticed his existence. I wish Faulk's goal would have hit him in the pants just a little to up his goal total/trade value.

Not only do we have to listen to John and Tripp conversing off on some tangent and Tracy rambling on idiotically, now we have to read GDT's such as this one. Is this all part of following a tanking hockey team.....? :sarcasm:

Happy for Jagr.

Here's the thing. You said a "jackdaw is a crow."

Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that.

As someone who is a scientist who studies crows, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls jackdaws crows. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.

If you're saying "crow family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of Corvidae, which includes things from nutcrackers to blue jays to ravens.

So your reasoning for calling a jackdaw a crow is because random people "call the black ones crows?" Let's get grackles and blackbirds in there, then, too.

Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. A jackdaw is a jackdaw and a member of the crow family. But that's not what you said. You said a jackdaw is a crow, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the crow family crows, which means you'd call blue jays, ravens, and other birds crows, too. Which you said you don't.

It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

I thought it did go off Tlusty watching the replay but I guess not :help:

So I am definitely not reading back to see if this has been said already -- with his points in this game, Jagr tied surpassed Marcel Dionne for #5 in all time points.

That's a pretty huge deal. Glad we got to see it. Considering they honored his 1500th game earlier, I hope they'll take a moment to recognize him later.
