Guentzel needs to be back asap. The 5v5 was the worst I've seen it in close to 2 months.
It was bad the whole 2nd period was basically a Montreal power play

I mean if they looked gas it was the second game of a back to back. Not a burn the tape kind of game because I think it wasn’t just bad luck and effort but something not to over analyze either.

Agreed with everyone mentioning how bad Geekie has looked recently, ever since that knee on knee a few games ago he has been shell shocked and targeted
I almost think they need to geekie down to the AHL and get him some confidence playing in the top 6

Geekie is fine. He will have his growing pains like any rookie, but sending him down to the AHL is a terrible idea at this point. He has chemistry with Hagel and Cirelli, and with more experience, that trio should only get better. Hopefully Tampa adds someone like Vatrano, Gourde, or.maybe one of Armia or Evans(although I doubt Montreal trades either to.a division rival unless they overpay badly). Geekie should remain a key member of the top 6/9, as he's shown what he's capable of and because Tampa has no one better to take his place.

Didn't get to see much of this one but Lilleberg getting beat on a pivot has been on my bingo card all year. He has to work on that. On one hand, he can hip check someone to Polk county and on the other hand he totally let's people blow by him. Bro has that Matt Carle movement laterally at times. He really needs to learn from Cernak.

It’s not like we cannot afford to send him down right now, but we already knew he was a streaky player when we got him, at least that was talked about quite a bit on his prospect page.

I’m in favor of whatever helps him develop

Don't see any reason to, let him work out his kinks now and hopefully we get an x-factor type player for the playoffs. I have no issue with him being streaky mid-season in his rookie year.

If that works I’m for it, I was thinking of when Drouin came back up near the end of the season and was a monster in the postseason after some AHL minutes.

In Drouin's case that was more about opportunity. Injuries opened the door and he took Stamkos's spot on the PP.

I mean the way I see it with Drouin was he always had that ability.... he was stapled to the 4th line while Stamkos was playing with Killorn and Callahan.

He would've been a HUGE asset in the 2015 playoffs if we'd treated him like Geekie this year, instead he rode the doghouse all year and when our offensive players got injured we had nothing.

Yeah, glad Cooper has changed a bit on that front.
