Nice bounce back win, Swayman not too busy, but made the some nice saves. Pasta was being Pasta almost had 2 beauties. Geekie and Koepke with nice goals and Brazeau his typical front of the net goal.

My issue with Lohrei isn’t that he makes mistakes. All young players do, and I can accept that. What’s frustrating about him is that a lot of his mistakes are really basic stuff around positioning and puck management.

He’s a + skater and puck handler and I think he tries too hard to showcase those skills instead of just making the simple and safe play. He’s like the complete opposite of Wotherspoon, who isn’t gonna scare you with his skating or passing, but plays a very simple, unspectacular game.

The good news is, that's something he can – and likely will – learn as he matures. The skills will remain.

.885 but it's drastically skewed by the WPG game where no one showed up and WPG put up 8 on the Bruins. You take that game out and he's at a .908 SV% during that stretch. Is it lights out? No, but he's doing what he needs to give the team a chance to win.

Yeah, that's the problem with using averages (the mean): One or two extreme outliers will skew the result, and might not be the best measurement to reflect the reality.

They way some fans act, you’d think Providence was absolutely stacked to the brim with top line F/D prospects eating each others young in order to get a spot with the big club.

Good point ..I don't think there's anybody in Providence who's a better option than Lohrei

..and I really like what I see from Lohrei in the offensive zone and on the PP, but he definitely needs to work on his defensive zone positioning and breakout passes (although he was +4 last night)

IMO NHL experience is more valuable for him rather than playing in Providence

..and all warts aside, he's my favorite Bruin to watch his development

It`s that slippery slope, sheltering his minutes might be a way to go but how quickly would a kid develop doing so? I think the bonus will be when Lindholm returns, you can better shelter Lohrei and give him more offensive starts off a faceoff.

I also think many of us forget, this kid started playing D only a few years ago and look at him? Unreal IMO

2. Florida
3. Toronto

Tampa has too many games in hand to pick against them as a top 3. I think that the Bruins have been too inconsistent and their special teams are too terrible to put them in the top 3. They'll be a wild card and then let's hope that they can put it together in a short series while Swayman has his game together in time for playoffs. But watch out for Ottawa. If they come out of their 9 game road trip in good shape and can stay in wild card contention then they finish out the season with 8 of 9 at home.

Couldn’t agree more.

He definitely has some warts to his game but also some really nice assets as well. I’m certain that the B’s (and him) are well aware of both and working with him on all facets.

Sometimes I think B’s fans expect young players to be on a constant upwards trajectory — never having to work through things. Particularly defensemen, which is toughest position to develop.

That’s fine when you are picking top 5 in league — you get Cale Makar’s. But Bruins have picked bottom of the first round or no first round at all for years. People lose sight of that, so expectations often don’t meet reality.

It’s why, even with an East that is at best so so, Bruins management should not get all giddy and trade any first or second rounders at the TDL.

Hell, if Frederick can get you a first rounder, ship him out pronto. Current 2nd or 3rd place in East be damned.

Bruins play I think 18 of their remaining 45 games against TB, Ottawa, Florida, Toronto., NJ, Carolina & Washington. 40% of their remaining schedule against the 7 teams currently sitting in PO spots in the East.

The B's are gonna need to bring their lunch pails for those tougher teams, and try to out work them, because that's the best way (or only way) they're gonna have success against them

..the Bruins get into trouble when they try to play wide open hockey against the faster, more skilled teams, and before they know it, they're down a few goals and it goes south from there ...because comebacks are not their strong suit

So, if they really want to make the playoffs this season, they need to bring their lunch pails and get to work .....one game at a time
