Latvia has played 3 games, their 4th attempt at being shut out will have to wait until tomorrow.Latvia has been shut out 4 times in a row, giving up 20 goals total!
not from this guy, Sweden has a ton of kids back from last year and IMO, should be considered the tournie fav`s.Impressive win for the Sweedes.
Que the overreaction, north of the border........
Two of his assists came from plays where he scrambled the puck from his opponent and passed it for a nice breakaway. Nice pattern.Latvia up 5-1 over Germany, Dans Locmelis with 2 assists.
I am glad I was wrong about Latvia being shut out for 4 games.

no kidding, thats a penalty in the NHL, it was all head.Man I thought Jack was a homer. He has nothing on these Canadian broadcasters.
He does that turn to the wall with the defender on him a lot, idk if he’s trying to draw a call from it or is just trying to protect the puck. It’s getting him plastered quite a bit though.nice to see poitras is ok. he took a very heavy hit on the wall (to the head) when he tried
to pull up. we've seen it a bunch in boston too.
edit: damn...he just went into the wall again
One thing I noticed about him is he does not get rid of pucks enough to free himself to get open space. He wants to lug it till he can find beauty setups and ends up taking big hits.nice to see poitras is ok. he took a very heavy hit on the wall (to the head) when he tried

He has somewhat the right idea. There is a time to turn and a time not to turn. He seems to not figure that out 100% yet. He also 100% needs to get stronger, and he will. Pasta was pushed around like he was paper when he first came into the league. He needed his time to develop man strength. He does that turn to the wall with the defender on him a lot, idk if he’s trying to draw a call from it or is just trying to protect the puck. I think the larger ice is messing with him. Oddly enough, he seems safer doing that cutback move in the NHL against bigger guys. I think it's because he has a better sense of safe distance from the boards on the smaller ice so he's able to take those hits and brace himself well for them.He does that turn to the wall with the defender on him a lot, idk if he’s trying to draw a call from it or is just trying to protect the puck. At least we don't have to hear them saying "it's the coin that won't toss" dumbest thing ever heard from a PBP guy.Man I thought Jack was a homer. He has nothing on these Canadian broadcasters.
