The Hjalmarsson-Murphy move was objectively bad for CHI. They got a far less impactful player for the same cost against the cap. Murphy has always been a bum.

Murphy stinks, but Hammer was falling apart physically by the time the Hawks traded him.

Love that dude but he was always going to fall off a cliff when he started to decline.

I see that trade as a bringing in a younger version of Hammer…Hammers’ body eventually broke down…Seabs Keith and Hjalmarsson/Murphy are 1000 gamer dcorp

And he was still a much better player his final two years than Murphy ever was for the Hawks. Moving him could have made sense if they had gotten an actual haul for him. They didn't.

Nazar pinched Romonov to flip that puck over the glass.

Islanders pick they traded for Romonov was the Nazar pick. They could of had him instead

My memory might be fuzzy but I thought Hammer was pretty terrible after the trade from what I remember reading.
Terrible no, healthy, no. He had 1 full healthy season. He was still strong defensively most of the time when he was healthy enough.

How many times have they had a one goal lead going into the third this season? Man! I can’t take it anymore…
They have been competitive in most of their games this year in terms of winnable games, just don't have enough offense to win many of them.

I’ll always remember the 2015 playoffs for the Hawks leaning on the four of Keith Seabrook Hjalmarsson and Oduya…Rozsival broke his foot in the deciding game vs Minny in round two and the big four were heavily used the last two rounds…Timonen Rundblad Cumiskey and van Riemsdyk tried to fill in the blanks

Barzal is such a tantalizing player but his refusal to shoot the puck is crazy. If you option is shooting it from the high slot with a lane or holding it and putting it back to a point man directly behind you in the same lane, why would you not shoot?
