Well that was as clear a crosscheck to the head as can be. The refs still owe us a real make up call.

Sure, it’s a plausible reason for a decline in the product. But it’s not a plausible reason for Zib and Bread and Strome being garbage from day one and 99% of shifts since. Bread has put up points on the PP but been honestly quite bad every game and even our PP is a massive frustration. The new coach, new system, lots of travel is just the latest line of excuse making.

With Laf it was no preseason, Covid schedule, hasn’t played meaningful hockey in a year.

With Kakko it was he played TOO MUCH hockey the year he was drafted and was tired.

Then it was Quinn misuses the kids and overplays Howden. Then Quinn lost the room and we weren’t playing for him.

None of these excuses, in isolation, is bad or improbable. But we’ve just become accustomed to making excuses for this team when, frankly, I think the actual answer is… the culture is rotten and breeds complacency and is unlikely to change because of how deeply engrained it is.

It’s a valid argument, no need for the “get lost”
 
What I take away from this game - Shesterkin is just incredible and he's going to win a Vezina or two if he stays healthy in his career.

Do you watch the games or just look at the score in the local papers the next day? Early W/L records are a skewed data point. The PLAY of the team is what we are talking about. It has been bad. If it remains like this, the record will reflect that, quite shortly.
