I see a team whose forward core (Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Strome) plays however it feels like playing regardless of the coach or system.

I tune out of GDTs most of the time because it's just a misery Olympics, but it's not a likable brand of hockey so far. It's turning a bunch of talented guys, even if a lot of them are space cadets, into one of those Dallas Stars/Nashville Predators teams that no one wants to watch - and they wouldn't watch us out of town, if it wasn't to rubberneck at whatever is going on with Lafreniere and Kakko.

It's hard to have a team with this many good players that has no team speed and no puck possession.

Were you saying that when we had a 4-0 road trip against Canadian teams, too?

It will come much sooner than that, we are GOOD this year, we've played less than 15 games in an 82 game season and we are near the top of the division. I'm high AF right now, but I want whatever you're on.

Can someone explain why Calgary's 3rd goal was allowed? There was CGY player inside the goal crease, blocking off Shesterkin when
JG came in and scored? How would he have played that puck?

At first thought same thing but after watching the replay it looks like the puck was loose behind Shesty and Tkachuk was fighting for the loose puck with another Ranger defender. Maybe if Shesty wasn't in front of the puck (which was loose behind him) it could have been some kind of goalie interference.

It's frustrating because the team isn't bad. They have the talent and have shown they can look like a legit team when they actually play the right way. For whatever reason, they only play that way in spurts. Idk if it's culteral, mental or poor conditioning? Tired after the B2B?? Idk, but if it doesn't get sorted out soon, this season could get ugly in a hurry.

100% ANY good games by Laf or Kakko is what I was looking for this year.

Picking up points while playing some ugly games with your goalie as the first star and adjusting to things is fine! But usually it leads to either playing well or not picking up points anymore. It's not a permanent state of affairs.

lmao as a diehard Tolkien fan that is a great analogy. But I have to say, some of the people in this forum are as stupid as Denothor and I wish they would burn themselves in a pyre like he did.

Just turned this on. Anyone playing well? On the Rangers, I mean. Or total nothing performance?

I think the Rangers have been skating and mostly playing physically but haven’t gotten really any breaks on offense. And the Flames have capitalized every time the Rangers defense broke down. Markstrom has made a few great saves too. Flames have been very consistent.
