I have no problem being patient with this team, experiencing growing pains, being patient with the kids as they work off some warts. I did not anticipate being so impotent though. I expected Laf to pace for 40-50 points this year as a more comfortable member of the team but also make some boneheaded mistakes and be mediocre defensively. I expected Strome and Panarin to just continue as normal. I expected Mika to maybe frustrate but still look dangerous for more than one PP one timer per game. I expected Kakko’s improved overall possession game and effort to translate to 45ish points. I figured we’d lose some barn burners. Lose on bad errors. Lose because we’re young. I didn’t expect to be so boring.


And Fox to be robbed of a beauty by an offsides.
