Mashinter barely played in the Philly game. Powe and Mashinter are the only forwards to average less than 10 minutes. They only played one game. AV is not Tortorella. Last night,VAN played basically 8 forwards and 5 D. The 5th D Ryan Stanton played 12 minutes. AV likes to use all 12 forwards.
He should be getting the start, and he should be getting a nice string of games right now. Lundqvist won't be able to find his groove splitting time with Talbot.
And I know a lot of fans have already speculated trading Lundqvist and have Talbot reign in a new era, but after three games, I'm more inclined to ride Lundqvist to the ground over the next 65 games over Talbot. My concern is the Rangers put in another so-so effort for Lundqvist and the team doesn't find the back of the net. Than Talbot comes back in and wins a game because the team scores for him. It will create a goaltending controversy (something AV is all too familiar with). Last two games Talbot started the Rangers scored a combined 6 goals. Last two games Lundqvist started the team scored a combined 0 goals.
That said, I like Talbot starting 20 games this season. No reason for Lundqvist to play any more than 60-62.
That said, he needs to start getting more starts to find his game.
Watch out for Moulson, he historically does well against us. It will be a tougher night than people will think. Especially if Miller plays well (who is another world class goaltender).

Win this one to close out October 5-7. Horrible month, but not bad considering the road trip, new coach, injuries, etc
4 home games in a row now, and 6 out of the next 7 at home. A lot of the damage can be repaired with som good results. Only 3 points behind 8th.

Now would be a good time to get the first back-to-back wins of the season. Buffalo's offense has performed worse than ours. No excuses tonight.
That's true, BUT, Moulson I think will be a real lift for the team. Two goals in his first game. And the team didn't get any worse. That trade was one of the most lateral moves a team can make, a 30 goal winger for a 30 goal winger.
Ryan Miller also always has the ability to make a game interesting, even with a poor team in front of him. And their performance offensively really hasn't been worse, it's almost identical, 1.64G/GM to 1.57G/GM. Statistically, it's been "worse" but for all reasonable purposes, their offense has been equal.
It will be tougher than fans make it out to be. Remember, we're not exactly San Jose or Chicago. No win is an easy win.
I have a feeling it's going to be one of those 2-1, or 1-0 games, where BOTH teams have issues generating chances and scoring.

Yes he is. Should be an easy win for your guys, but we all know what happened last season when Torts got mad, so I would not put any money on it.
Not my opinion, I haven't seen the Sabres enough to judge. Perhaps you have.

A 5-7 start considering everything that has happened is acceptable. The Rangers need a win tonight
