You guys were talking about razors the other day. What was the consensus on a good one?

Brand name markup. Nothing wrong with it if it’s what you want, but to give you an idea, refills on that are $7 for 10.

Astra Superior Platinum Double Edge blades. They're <$10 for 100. Their Stainless are also good, but tougher to find.

My Razor is a Henson because I like buying shit that lasts for life, but they work in almost anything.

Henson is hilariously overengineered, so only go there if you don’t want to have to replace it. If not, spend less. I if you like that Gillette razor, all of the replacement blades including the Astras work just fine in it. The Platinums are better than the Stainless for my beard, but that’s obviously going to vary from person to person. There’s a whole thing about how to find the ones made in India instead of the ones made in Russia too, but that’s only if you want to go down the rabbit hole.

Maggard Razors is the turbonerd store of choice. Stirling Soap is the suggested starter place.

@Striiker Niche subreddits. Best thing in the world.

I just was referring to the style. I don’t know much about them other than they remove hair.
I don’t know which brands are good, and if I should go with a closed comb having no clue what I’m doing or if that’s a waste of money.

It used to matter whether it was open or closed. There’s no functional difference anymore with one exception.

The advantage of an open comb is that you don’t have to stop to clean it if you take off longer hair. I don’t mean your hair grows quickly. I’m talking about taking a beard off every once in a while or you only shave once a week.

I don’t know all of the brands, but I do know that Maggard doesn’t carry the crap. If it’s in their shop, it’s probably fine.

This would be on ESPN2 back in the day.

the next time I set up a spreadsheet to calculate means and standard deviations for each column of data, I will shout "HE'S FLEXING! HE'S FLEXING!". And my dog will get up from lying on my feet, look at me with puzzlement and anxiety, and head downstairs.

Senators Schumer and Rounds are all in on the disclosure of UAP/UFO info. (Do embedded YouTube videos still work?)

Small snippet from Schumer: "The US government has gathered a great deal of information over many decades but has refused to share it with the American people. That is wrong, and additionally it breeds distrust. We've also been notified by multiple credible sources that information about UAPs has also been withheld from congress, which, if true, is a violation of the law, which requires full notification of the legislative branch, especially as it relates to the four congressional leaders, the defense committees, and the intelligence committee."
