I almost lost my Dane within weeks of adopting him to bloat. Managed to come up with the cash to save him but only just. Getting insurance for him was the best decision I made, I'm pretty sure I saved money on his vet bills over the years.

Bloat is no joke. I'm glad they made it through ok.

I tracked this on our dogs for a while. What it came down to was one minor surgery every 3-4 years and it saved money without factoring in any other appointments. That could be as little as having a growth on a lip or under an eye removed.

I don't know who you have, but we've been with Healthy Paws for years. Never had a problem getting paid and I can always get an actual person on the phone in 2 minutes. They even unprompted credited me with the wasted 3 months of fees when I procrastinated on calling to cancel after losing one.

After spending $4K to try and keep our cat alive a few years back (unsuccessfully), we decided to get pet insurance with our dog. It's $47 a month through Liberty Mutual and gives peace of mind that we won't get hammered financially again if he becomes sick or needs surgery for a torn ACL or something like that.

We have insurance too, discounted through work also. Lucky too, because we get 50% kickback on our deductible costs for Snoop's $115/mo medicine. Very worth it

Speaking of which, it was Brutus' first snow today

Unsure at first, but then started sniffing around

And then he figured out he could eat it

Of course....plays well in the media as part of the culture war related to urban crime...

Drug store retailers like Rite Aide, CVS etc for example try to distract from their billions in settlement payments as result of their opioid chicanery...

Bernie’s first foray into snow was a trip. My buddy and I (and Bernie) were doing a wintertime hike in the Cascades. There is at least a foot of snow at the trail head so when he jumped out of the truck, it was his first time in snow.

B was around 8 months old and was hopping around like a rabbit. He loved it

So I just heard a good podcast on NPR (How I Built This) about the merits of whole body MRI's and this particular company. CEO debunked a lot of misinformation out there by medical practitioners like radiation concerns (not a CT scan) and false positives etc. Convinced the positives outweigh the negatives even the out of pocket cost. Too much family history and want to f*** cancer...

So these new servers don't have the capability to handle the most common image sharing platform and its constituents. Nice

Correlation isn’t causation and all of that. We don’t see the error code, so we have no idea what it is. It could be as simple as a 429.

Imgur in particular is a royal pain in the ass when you have to deal with them. And you will because they change functionality like you change bow ties.

Just like my workplace. Rolling out a major, sweeping change in the pharmacy before checking if the thing even f***ing works.
