The defense was very solid, led by a really good game by McDonagh. Special teams did their job, but big stick taps to the pk which did not have an easy assignment against Winnipeg. Vasy was great. Would have been an amazing story to score a goal and win his 300th all together. Oh well. The only real negative was we went into a shell way too much early in the third. We didn't have a shot on goal for the first 14:38 of that period. Some of that is helped out by the refs supplying Winnipeg with pps, but not all of it.

Speed kills, and the boys were a full step faster to every puck and every play tonight. And they pretty much kept the gas on for a full 60 minutes. They play like THAT, they beat anybody.
