Outside of his rookie year, Stepan has been a notoriously slow starter. Usually takes him 10 games to get going, and that looks to be the case here. He's been fantastic tonight. The points will come. When a guy in as big of a slump as he is gets his nose dirty and wins these puck battles along the boards, it's a good sign of life.

Just because I looked it up earlier today: in his last 3 seasons, stepan's point totals after 20 games are:
1st year - 9 (inc the 3g debut)
2nd - 12
3rd - 11

His trend is slow start, dominate (relatively) middle and then taper off at the end/playoffs
