The improvement in the Rangers defensive structure is breathtaking.

Jacques Martin deserves a TON of credit.

Yup, he's been huge. You can tell it took the guys some time to adjust, but how they're playing now vs the start of the season vs last year is amazing to see.

I will say, he looked slower on that race than he normally does, I think that was an end of the shift moment.

I was saying during the off-season that playing defense isn’t necessarily the hard part, it’s playing defense without sacrificing offense.

Definitely a balancing act. Islanders just... they’re boring. They look dangerous offensively some shifts but I believe they only have 23 goals in 10 games this year? Now almost 11. That’s tied for least in the league with 2 games in hand on the other team (NJD). Teams that can shut things down but then quickly transition the puck up ice well definitely are the top teams in the league. And teams who consistently have clean zone entries off of that transition.

I hate our stand still PP. No player movement what so ever. No high slot tips. No down low work. Way too much standing around.

I'd consider starting PP2 for a while with Fox.

Watching this team's games has been a waste of 3 hours this season. Boring, boring hockey every single night. You can't put all the blame on Trotz and the Islanders. We've improved our defense but at the cost of completely castrating the team offensively, our youngsters aren't scoring, and the powerplay is gone back to the Torts era. Yuck.
