Was expecting Boldy there. Never thought Podkolzin was an option. Seems like he would be a great fit with any line. Not the key offensive player on a line but makes it work. I like him for either Pete or Horvat.

Interesting pick by Benning.

I'll be delighted to be proven wrong* but the dude has not scored yet. I don't like betting on him to start.

*It is nice to have a shit-disturber to cheer for again!

This seems like a massive risk at a point where there were similar-upside players who were much less less risky on the board.
Agree. Boldy was my pick but there were a few good options here. I like the pick but there’s a chance he never wears a canucks jersey.

Embarassing they couldn't find anyone in the organization to pronounce Podkolzins name at least half right...

I know it might only be a minor thing but to me it screams unprofessionalism which somehow fits the picture our management group tends to show a lot.

I mentioned in another post, I think they kept Benning off the stage in prevention of him getting boo'd but once again, what the hell does John Weisbrod do again?

You'd think they would get the Harvard grad or Judd Brackett to announce of the pick before throwing Steamer out there.

I thought his real risk was the two year khl contract and if his name was Smith, he'd be a top 5 pick.

Put his body on the line every night as a player.

Time in management? Eh, not so good.

Can say the same about Ron Delorme. Took on ALL heavyweights (even if he was overmatched). His time in "management"? Eh, not so good.
Smyl is a guy you can imagine bumbling upwards. Sharpest knife in the drawer is Weisbrod. He likes having the room filled with useful idiots.
