I came across a Judge in both Illinois and Michigan, however, the latter was a museum or show piece on tour. Many eons ago. Very pristine condition by a collector.

One of the cool things about my job (geologist) is that I get to see a lot of unique places and meet unique people.

On this one Site I had to work at in Virginia I was collecting soil vapor samples inside of a rundown warehouse, separated into three of four sub-buildings. I didn't realize it was owned by a gentleman who owned ~10 car dealerships. He had done very well for himself.

We walk into garage of the warehouse and the property manager says to my team, this warehouse houses Mr. X's private car collection, so please be careful in certain areas. I was assuming there would be ~5-6 nice cars. He opens the door to the first room, and there are ~30 immaculate antique cars, one of them being a 64' black GTO.

He opens the next door, and it's filled with 20 race cars of various types. Apparently, he had a race team, and all of these cars were previously raced. The guy asked me how much I thought the car collection was worth, and I said something like 1-2 million (not a huge car guy, just like the look of a few cars). He laughed and said there were engines worth over $500K alone!

At that point, we had to pause what we were doing, because we couldn't in that place without potentially damaging any of the cars. The property manager had to put sheets, and blankets down so we could do our work. It was pretty awesome sight!

I'm not really much of a volcanologist, more of a hydrogeologist at this point, and I don't know much about the geology specific to Virginia, IE it's formation.

But what I can tell you is that there are not any volcanoes on the east coast, although there used to be a few. I think Virginia has a few relics.

Most volcanoes typically form where tectonic plates converge, known as subduction zones, where an oceanic plate subducts under a continental plate. The water/fluid from the oceanic plate changes the density, temp and pressure of the molten rock in the mantle. This change causes the molten rock to raise (laws of thermodynamics), which is what causes volcanoes in this setting. This is most of the relic volcanoes on the east coast.

You can also form volcanoes when tectonic plates diverge. For example, The the mid-atlantic ridge (which is the ridge in the center of the Atlantic ocean that is separating), began has a few associated volcanoes. As the plates pulled apart, the crust thins, and the mantle began to rise up and push its way through. The MAR began forming in this area, and began thinning the crust in this area. There are remains of thinning of the crust in this area known as rift basins (basins that were formed because of the separation of the crust) that have localized magmatic intrusions.

The other type of volcano is called a 'hot spot volcano', such as Hawaii. No one really knows the physics behind that type. Basically for whatever reason, there's a spot where magma shoots up through the earth's crust in the middle of a tectonic plate.

Geology is fun.

Because they didnt really have a design team they hired an Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. It never actually made it out of the concept phase, but Guigiaro took that design idea and later made it into the DeLorean. (Note: though the DeLorean is probably his most notable design, he also designed cars like the BMW M1 and original VW Golf)

I only know about this because of the N Vision 74, Hyundai's futuristic hydrogen/electric concept car which pays homage to the original Pony concept. One of the coolest looking cars in recent memory.

Thanks. I hope everyone is paying attention to this. Virginia has hot springs. How viable would geothermal power be?

How would I restart a volcano relic? Or form a new one? Asking for a friend who is interested in establishing geothermal power to enrich myself.

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough of a wardrobe to date her longer than a handful of months...I wanted a couple of those cars for my own private collection. Nice guy though...passed away recently...but he almost killed my cat when he said to triple his dose of steroids even though my cat had a degenerative spine disease that steroids could not cure. Dude was smart obviously...brain surgeon but he was no pet medical specialist that is for sure! Luckily his daughter advised not to heed his recommendation...lol

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough of a wardrobe to date her longer than a handful of months...I wanted a couple of those cars for my own private collection. Ha ha..she was a cutey for sure. I dug her big time. Smart as a whip too but alas although we were both Italian and I think that was her main attraction dating me....we were not cut from the same cloth apparently..my take. A few months after breaking up I discovered she met her current husband and had a child. Was happy for her. Seem like more of a complementary couple.
