Not to mention that the season has just begun. Games (and some teams) in October have no resemblance to games in January and beyond. Hawks played well last night but Avs are struggling to keep the puck out of their net. Hawks still rely too much on Mrazek, they need scoring, are generally terrible at the dot, and their defensive coverage has holes. (especially when it comes to picking up the late man entering Hawks zone).
It is good to see Kurashev pick up his game, Reichel's improvement and Donato's hustle but some of the other players are too often passengers. Guys like Hall, Bertuzzi and to a lesser extent, Dickinson who had a career season last year and is struggling to regain that form. I don't think Brodie will ever be an asset but I am encouraged by the play of Nolan Allan.
