Honestly impressed with how well they limited chances with the Avs chasing for the whole game. Outside of a couple of shifts here and there, there wasn't a lot of noise, which is saying something against that team. Mrazek very solid too.

Mrazek stole a win for us.. a Wall in 3rd period ..several gradexA chance saves..
Some very hardxeorking Hawks tonight...but also some pretty bad performances...Bedard and Tt ...pretty insignificant...Hall failed to check Mittelstedt ...Avs goal resulted and Bertuzxi might have moved over to cut off Mittlelstedt but did not.. so 2 vet lazy fails cost us..

The EOIC S.Jones letting McKinnon walk around him by getting caught flat -foitrd..cost usxa goal.

The Bertuzxi and Kaiser back to back penalties costing a 5 on2 situation goal (yes 5 one but Jones was imposition and should have cut off MCkinnon by his $9.5 million feet gotbunco-ordibatrd... Notice even Connor Barfy cits off McKinnon a few times trying that..so realky Jones had an Epic Fail...not to mentin Jones ruins everyPo1.
In general thHawks highest paid vets stunk and the rest ofvthe team plus Mrazek won this game for us.

It’s gonna be a bad team standing wise but this team is actually watchable and I find myself more engaged in games than any point since our bubble playoffs

They play hard, have solid structure and are competent defending and in net. They lack the difference makers up front along with a push from the backend

The way Murphy is destroying people with monster hits someone is gonna want to add that for a playoff run

Nah, like, they aren't that bad. They have underpeformed their underlying stats. Games like WPG, NASH, Buffalo, Calgary. They are right there. They are like 10th worst right now in a lot of ways.

There's some serious anchoring bias going on in the nation (Eliotte) and local (here) narratives. They really havent been bad. Not even close to comparable to last year. and those opinions have been "confirmed" by standings points. They are like 50/50 in possession most nights

They will likely underperform their underlying stats for the bulk of the year. The guns just aren't there up front and if pucks aren't going in off of cabooses they're going to struggle to score enough to not be a bottom five team. But they're going to be competitive and watchable even when 98 is on the bench or having a slow night and that's enough for me for now

Yea they're watchable for sure, and every week that goes by of watchable hockey gets us a week closer to Murphy-Brodie-Martinez out, Korch-Lev-EDM in, and 77/15/89 out, Nazar/Dach in.
