Ducks deserve a sellout for their home opener. I would go but alas I'm in Dallas![]()
That move by Giroux was pretty slick.
Glad we have Wild Bill who I'm sure will become a regular in our shootouts. Kesler's shot was wicked too - just an inch or too off the mark.
3 straight is a great way to end a road trip, they can play betterNot the ideal way to end the road trip. I thought they'd have more energy to play with today considering how uncompetitive yesterday was. There's a lot of improvements that can be made but its early and plenty of time left to get to where they want to be. Nonetheless, a win's a win.
They still played hard yesterday. I'm not surprised how tired they were having played 3 games in 4 days, so I wouldn't be worried about how they looked near the end of the game. Not the ideal way to end the road trip. The Ducks always sell out the home opener. Hell, the Ducks sold out 75% of their home games last season.
This isn't 2001, nor are we in Florida.
Was just about to say that. I don't think any goalie in the league saves Giroux's shot on that one
The stickhandling was insane, but it was the way he shifted his weight from side to side all the way down that amazed me. That leaves a goaltender no choice but to hope his stick snaps on the release.
cant ask for much more then that to start the year off with a 4 game roader....we looked good to start off but that parade to the box basically took the wind out of our sails as we just looked tired after that (understandable on the seasons first back-to-back). we found a way to win and that is really all that matters, great goals in the SO by wild bill and silf, and kesler too he just destroyed the post.
its still early so i dont want to put to much into it but is anyone else kind of dissapointed(for lack of a better word) with thompson?. i guess i just hadnt really seen much of him and heard such good things about him and other than killing penalties i just dont see anything other than a average 4th line C....maybe linemate's? but if thats the case i really dont think its going to get much better on his wings. Etem really needs to get it going, seems like he is trying to hard to me and he may just be one of those guys that is a slow starter. DSP,wild bill, and silf to me have gotten better and better each game and its very good to see, hope the continue.
