The Ducks always sell out the home opener. Hell, the Ducks sold out 75% of their home games last season.

Not the ideal way to end the road trip. I thought they'd have more energy to play with today considering how uncompetitive yesterday was. There's a lot of improvements that can be made but its early and plenty of time left to get to where they want to be. Nonetheless, a win's a win.

They still played hard yesterday. I'm not surprised how tired they were having played 3 games in 4 days, so I wouldn't be worried about how they looked near the end of the game.

All the SO goals were impressive. Silf with the little bobble to set up his wicked shot. Giroux with the dekes. And Karlsson for the win.

Fowler had a few good plays on defense in OT.

Karlsson seemed to get a lot of OT time. Coaching showing they liked his

DSP got a shift in OT too, so that's a good sign.

Why, oh why is Vatanen on the PK? I think he's actually better defensively than his reputation. But the PK? The PK is all about reach and your zone of control. Also subtly keeping forwards covered or away from the crease. And winning board battles. Vatanen is good at none of those things.

Such a luxury to have a goaltender who can steal games. This team needs to exert more offensive zone pressure in the latter stages of game though.

Officiating was straight garbage tonight.

We are, however, in a state where bandwaggoning accounts for a good 50% of the fans. With the new cup champs just up the freeway, we know which way that pendulum has swung. I still am hoping to sell out the opener. Our boys deserve it. Only silver lining is our season tickets were pretty cheap.

The stickhandling was insane, but it was the way he shifted his weight from side to side all the way down that amazed me. That leaves a goaltender no choice but to hope his stick snaps on the release.

Surprised we had 3 guys over 50% on faceoffs tonight. Thought we were getting destroyed in that aspect.

Yup or flail your arms and pray. The way that he was able to shelf it was amazing too

cant ask for much more then that to start the year off with a 4 game roader....we looked good to start off but that parade to the box basically took the wind out of our sails as we just looked tired after that (understandable on the seasons first back-to-back). we found a way to win and that is really all that matters, great goals in the SO by wild bill and silf, and kesler too he just destroyed the post.

its still early so i dont want to put to much into it but is anyone else kind of dissapointed(for lack of a better word) with thompson?. i guess i just hadnt really seen much of him and heard such good things about him and other than killing penalties i just dont see anything other than a average 4th line C....maybe linemate's? but if thats the case i really dont think its going to get much better on his wings. Etem really needs to get it going, seems like he is trying to hard to me and he may just be one of those guys that is a slow starter. DSP,wild bill, and silf to me have gotten better and better each game and its very good to see, hope the continue.

i'm on the same wavelength you are. for all the hype that thompson generated i thought he would be very good. he certainly hasn't been the case in my eyes. hes been your typical 4th line C. i dont see much difference between him and steckel
