Have to imagine Nils gets another run after his little break here.

Has anyone watched HFD this year? Who's been better, Jones,Schneider, Tarmo?

With the top two lines constantly getting pinned in their own zone I can see why he's choosing to go with Tinordi. The third and fourth lines were the only ones to give us a breather that 2nd period against the Kraken. If they're gonna fight through the top 6 being zombies they might as well have the bigger guy back there on the third pair since the team is just getting destroyed unless it's a weak time. Get Nils some AHL time and just rotate Tinordi and Hajek until the top 6 wake up and then call up whoever is playing the best down there.

Nemeth is a pretty good defender, but he needs to be paired with a guy who can move the puck. Tinordi isn't that.

For that reason, that pairing should really only ever be out there with the 3rd and 4th lines, who will have a philosophy of defend well, come deep in the defensive zone, and then dump the puck in at the red line. That eliminates the necessity for good puck movement, while not stifling the creativity of the top two lines.

Nemeth and Tinordi should mostly be out when our grinders are getting their simple cycling/point/crash the net game on.

Right, that's why I think we both think it would be worth a go at swapping him and lindgren for a bit once Nils is back in the lineup.

It’s what I would try too, at the very least for one game.

Playing with Fox makes the game very simple for his partner, and spreading the talent means Lundkvist gets to play with a similarly stiled, but superior, defenseman to Nemeth.

Regardless of whos in the pipes, I'd like to see a complete or close to complete 60 minute effort from the team tonight, just get some consistent play going.

If they do that they easily beat the Nucks.

I'd also like to see them get back to the simple road style we saw in Nashville and also at parts against Dallas in the home opener.

Forecheck, cycle, point shots, traffic in front.

Moving your feet, supporting the puck as a line and a 5 man unit.

As Gallant said yesterday, there are a lot of skilled players on this team and you dont want them all dumping the puck in. But the management of the puck has to be better, the giveaways have to be cut down and they have to find a way to marry the hard forechecking style that leads to more zone time.

The thing with the Rangers is if they do learn to play that style you get the best of both worlds. There is a decent amount of size and toughness in this lineup to stack up against any team and play a north south game, but amidst that there is also a ton of skill, moreso than most of the teams in the league.

If they can establish zone time and hem a team in using some grit, then pretty quickly their skill takes over and they are finding lanes and getting chances that most teams can't pull off.

It wont be easy, but they need to find the synergy of the two and they'll be unstoppable. I truly believe that. Because if everyone buys into the style it will sustain the team throughout a majority of the game and then boom, a highly skilled play can be made by Fox, Panarin, Mika, Laf, Kakko, Chytil, Strome, even Blais and Kreids.

Theres a level of patience this club needs to find and its starts at the top of the lineup.

I'm still waiting for that Kakko primal scream... He has to have a lot of 'frustration' pent up
