I know but the fundamentals should at least be in place by now and that starts with the NZ..
Did you see the Staal quote from practice? He mentioned to a degree that AV wouldn't stop battle drills to call out any mistakes or make players fix them. They're not renovating a small bathroom here. They gutted the house to the studs and are rebuilding it from there.

This team sucks offensively. And they suck defensively. Do people really think that 1 or 2 top picks will makes us good? Because there is a lot more to this garbage team

The answer is yes. They had 5 first round picks the last two years only 1 of which is on the team right now, plus good prospects like Howden and Hajek. You add an elite prospect or 2 and this will be a very good team in the near future. Give it some time for goodness sake.

My friend commented that David Quinn looks like Benedict Cumberbatch, if he doesnt dress up as Sherlock for Halloween he made a mistake

Why did it get locked these mods need to silence him because they're afraid. Here I will share my thoughts with you guys

You have to have a very high IQ to understand Namestnikov's game, he makes plays that are ahead of his time and aren't fully appreciated through the lens of a 2018 hockey fan. In about 10 years other players will successfully adopt some of his plays and people will finally understand what Namestnikov was doing. A lot of people speculate that he was simply a product of his linemates when he played with Stamkos & Kucherov, but why has Stamkos & Kucherov's production fell off a cliff since Namestnikov got moved? It's because Namestnikov made that line. He may not have had the shot of Stamkos or the hands of Kucherov, but he was the brains behind that operation. It's easy for a casual fan to admire how hard Stamkos's shot is, or the fancy stick work of Kucherov; but it takes a trained eye to comprehend the little plays that Namestnikov is making several times per shift. He's making everything happen but in ways that analytics can't yet quantify because they're futuristic.

If you look at these heat maps you get an idea of how elite his vision is:

I'm not the biggest Names fan but as of this very second, if I were Quinn and looking at this game, I'd swap Names and Hayes right now..

It's not one or two picks. Oilers have Draisitl and McDavid, they're terrible. Sabres have Eichel and Dahlin and just look average now. Last year the Islanders had both Tavares and Barzal.

Drafting a couple of elite players does nothing if you ice a garbage roster.
You dont supplement a team with all draft picks.

You get an elite talent with a top pick and sign Panarin and another guy.

True and indisputable.

Can't remember the last time I saw a player play this well who was also named Vladislav Namestnikov.

I think once people found out that although he was Russian born, he really is an American since he lived the vast majority of his life in Michigan, so he went from exotic unknown to gap store lame overnight.

Who gives a ****

I do. Because everyone acts like tanking is a fix. Time and time again teams draft high with little improvement. Fans hoping we are terrible think it's as simple as fail for a few years and you're the next Chicago, LA or Pittsburgh. That's not the case

it is f***ing amazing how often these guys lose pucks and/or cant handle loose pucks

and times and times again teams draft high and see a ton of improvement. Edmonton without McDavid would be #32 in the league right now. Toronto isn't Toronto without Matthews. Buffalo is still in the dumpster without Eichel.

If Brady is drinking like some have said.....well then, i guess we have Hayes and Vesey to thank. Especially Hayes (yeah, those Boston boys) Vesey looks like he would get drunk on ONE Miller light.
