I watched last night's game successfully on that. No subscription, no sign-in. Having previously tried cutting the cord with major time wasters like Kodi, this thing blew me away. I bought the box, I hooked up the box, I clicked on their link to install the software, I was watching content within a half hour of opening the box. It actually took me longer to mash the buttons simultaneously to pair the remote than it did to set the rest of it up.
I don't think this breaks any board rules as it's a legit product you can purchase from Amazon (or directly from the company).
I was hesitant to drop 400$ on what would amount to a glorified fire stick if the content wasn't included... "If it's too good to be true, then it's probably not true." That's not the case here.
All the live TV channels. I could have watched the Detroit broadcast on the NHL-games-only channels, but I opted to watch on our local sports network, of which there appeared to be many. I even had the alt feed showing the Sacramento Kings available from the regional sports affiliate. All the other city's CSN's, FSN's and BallySportsNetworks were all there too.
The only thing I didn't see was Amazon Prime Video and AppleTV. But those shows might have been available. There's a couple different "Heat" options for watching non-live content. One of them breaks it down by source, although you can search over all of them, and the other just sort of has things grouped by genre. The Prime Video/AppleTV content might still be in there just not labeled specifically as such. And no CrunchyRoll...
Also, it appears that the option for one week playback is on all the sport-specific type channels, meaning the NHL-live (or whatever they're calling it now) channels, I can roll the guide back and watch previous games, looks like the other sports-specific-subscription type channels have that capability as well.
For my Canadian friends, there's a whole slew of Canadian channels for live TV also.
I'm f***ing flabbergasted at how good this thing is! Considering how much I pay for cable and some subscription services this thing will pay for itself in a couple months. I was even able to pull up "Mike Tyson Mysteries" without all of Plutos incessant advertisements... from what I can tell the non-live content is commercial free.
