Kovalenko lowest TOI only 7:17. I think he can definitely skate at the NHL level and was very willing to throw his body around. Also seems like a smart player.

Colton and Wood were horrific today so he probably didn't look too good to Bednar. Regardless he wasn't a liability out there and in fact I believe he provided calmness in the D zone a few times while 20 and 28 were aimlessly skating around.

A slap shot ricocheted off of Cogliano's stick right into his head from 20 feet away. Looked like it got under his visor, too. He was struggling to move so much they took him off through the Avs bench and to the hospital.

Defected shot right to the side of the head. Lots of blood. They took him immediately off the ice to the Avs room (where the doctor was), and then right to the hospital. Didn't look good.

He's fine. Talking in the post game presser, seems fine. His cut lip from earlier in the series seemed to be bothering him more than anything.

He gave up 2, 2 and 1 goal against in the last 3 games.

So is he good or it's the defense that plays better?

I thought he looked better in net, at least this game. I think the defense in front of him is also better than from I saw going down the stretch. Might be a combination of both

I didn't think he looked out of place. Was pretty good defensively. Obviously, he's never even practiced with the team. Might have gotten more time if not for all the PPs in the 2nd.

100% simple plays quick exits, great on pk and pp just hope kovalenko learns from them. If we can get Landy back to even half of what he was that bottom six will be a force to deal with

Given the silliness that ensued at the end of last game, probably just a smart coaching move to keep him off the ice and let Josh "I don't really like violence" Manson police the situation.
