It 100% is. He looked phenomenal at this level last year when he was buzzing coming off a strong tournament for Michigan. I think he takes off once he gets one

Problem is it's a top line forward's job to produce and your early 20's is the time to start showing serious potential.

Nazar isn't projected as a depth guy, if he doesn't start to make moves in the big league next year that will be a problem.

That's why I said "next year."

But given how good he plays in the AHL I did expect more from him in this stint so far....which isn't much. It's not good at any age to be in that purgatory where you can dominate in the AHL but barely crack a point in the big league. I'm not "on the ledge" but I recognize that solid in the A whilst awkward in the NHL is a hard place to be for any player.

He doesn’t seem like a guy who is going to create instant offense, so given the lack of talent he’s now playing with in the NHL…. This isn’t far off from what I expected, to be honest.

If you ignore points I did expect him to be more confident in his puck distribution and tenacity in the slot shift to shift regardless of linemates. He's had a lot of ill advised moves with the puck well after his first couple games in.

Obviously I'm rooting for him to find his best self here.
