I despise Coop for pulling the goalie when we're down 2 with no time left.
The thing is, this team is wayyy better 5 on 5. Our power plays look like ass most nights and pulling the goalie for essentially a power play is idiotic. Maybe last year it would have been the right call but not this year, and coop keeps going back to it, thankfully he waited a little longer before putting a dagger in us this time.

Bad 1st but otherwise a competitive game, missing 2 of your top 4 D and the backup in net. Bad play at the point when the net was empty and that's all she wrote.

One more shitty play at the blueline to put the icing on the top. Hard fought game but the defense can't take two injuries. Having Raddysh and Perbix play as much as they did won't end well.

JJ played as well as he could. Toronto scored on their 1 pp chance, and Nylander and Matthews should score on those chances every time. So honestly it's hard to expect more from JJ.

Bolts might have played well enough for a point, not that it was a complete game, but just not opportunistic enough as Toronto is. Their time to strike was in the 2nd when we were pushing hard, but we just couldn't get it. Point and Kuch especially - they need to play like star players in big games like this and they just didn't.

Bolts are 5-2-1 since that awful west coast trip, so salvage some points tomorrow against Montreal and we should still be ok.

Sure, and he'll likely stay as a 6/7 once Cernak and Moser return, but he's not great defensively.
He's fine, easy to nitpick when you're down 2 dmen. Considering his ascent just a couple years ago from the AHL, he has been a great story. He is a good player and isn't some disaster on defense, just not his strong suit. Continues to improve.

To me he is clearly the 5th best d-man on the team and there's no shame in that.

Fatigue is clearly an issue and it sucks that we still have a bit of time before we're at a more normal game pace on our schedule, 16 games in January is ridiculous

First three goals against don't happen if we don't blow coverage on Leaf players cheating up the ice. Play a little smarter and we win this game.

We know what we have with Raddysh, unlike Perbix we can be more deliberate with his deployment and hide his weaknesses which makes him a great 5/6.

Yeah, this game wouldn't end differently with Vasy in net. He probably lets in a couple of floaters from the blueline like is customary against this team.

The main thing is, we have to start winning these divisional games. Our record against the Atlantic is abysmal and that won't end well if it continues.
